Today we had fun making conker caterpillars 🐛🌰

This was a great way to introduce early mathematics through "one to one correspondence " - by placing a conker on the number when counting.

Today we donned our puddle suits and went to visit our friends the ducks. 🦆

It is so lovely to watch the childrens friendships devlop and see positive attachments forming, as they develop their personal, social and emotional skills.

Is your child worried about using the toilet at school? Whether they're getting ready to start or have already begun their school journey, we have some tips to help:

✅ Let the school know about your child's needs early and speak with their teacher or a member of the school support team. Show them the School toilets information on our website and if appropriate, complete an Individual Healthcare Plan like the one on our website and look at our Intimate Care Policy.
✅ Know the school's policies. If your child uses protective underwear or a reminder watch, check what support and provisions are available.
✅ Ask the school how you can connect with local support services, such as your school nursing team and parent/carer forums.
✅ Practise using toilets away from home so different flushes, cubicles, and hand dryers feel less intimidating.
✅ Choose easy-to-manage clothing. Elasticated waistbands and long socks are much easier than tricky buttons, zips, and tights. We have a range of protective underwear, vibrating watches and items such as TomTags and other visual aids in the ERIC shop.
✅ Get into a positive toilet routine at home, including regular toilet visits, using the toilet 20/30 minutes after eating breakfast, lunch and dinner and plenty of fluids,
✅ Check for constipation. It's very common in children and can have a big impact on toileting.

✅️ℕ𝕖𝕩𝕥 𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕡𝕤✅️ are individual learning goals identified by observing a child. By doing so I can then taylor my provision and activities offered to help each individual child to achieve their goals and meet their developmental milestones.

Building blocks are a continuous provision here, meaning the children always have access to them as they are a fabulous resource supporting all 7 areas of learning.

When playing with blocks children usually naturally progress through distinctive development stages from sensory discovery and exploration to stacking. One of my little ones ✅️ℕ𝕖𝕩𝕥 𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕡𝕤✅️ was to make a small tower of stacked blocks.

This week we achieved this ✅️ℕ𝕖𝕩𝕥 𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕡✅️ and will continue to embed this skill with different opportunities to stack loose parts and other resources.

😵‍💫😖Today we had a day of big feelings.😖😵‍💫

When children are still little they are often unable to self regulate and leaving caregivers can feel extremely overwhelming.

The bonus of a childminder setting is we have the flexibility to plan our own day, so this mornings routine was quickly altered as we traded the enclosure of our four walls for the great outdoors!

Those big feelings soon felt very small amongst all that wide open space, and we were able to reset and enjoy a visit with the Llamas.🦙

We have been very patient, watching and watering our strawberries 🍓 and we are finally being rewarded with some fruit 😋
