Good morning my lovelies, happy Sunday to you! Goodbye October and hello November! Can I put my tree up yet? 🤔😉

For those of you still with me from my furniture artisty years, cast your mind back to 2019 when lovely Wendy found me. Like Sharon from last week I'd forgotten how many pieces I'd worked on for Wendy so she's taken me on another fab trip down memory lane 🥰

Having since moved to a beautiful period property she's asked me to update a chest of drawers and matching bedsides. The colours, soft neutrals, white with natural wood accents and a little stencil detailing. There is a quartrefoil theme running through the house so we've chosen a complementary tile stencil from the collection.

Only home for 3 days a week I'll be working on them over the next few weekends, so stay with me, they'll be worth the wait 😉

A couple of weeks ago I rediscovered my inner furniture artist and took on a commission, my first in 3 years, and in true Jo style it wasn't a simple chair or bedside, it was one of the largest pieces I've ever undertaken! (See the large orange before under comments 😉)

My client, lovely Sharon, who has many pieces of mine already in her beautiful home, chose my favourite signature design, the twisted Wisteria.

Set on a layered base of custom mixed plum purple, reflected in the interior, the stone background is a two tone textured finish created by using 2 brushes simultaneously in Annie Sloan's Old White and Country Grey.

Next came the subtle touches of French wording in gold gilding wax with a grey shadow, and finally the layers of twisted wisteria.

It took 3 weekends to complete, and with the clocks going back this weekend my circadian rhythms were so out of wack I was in the studio at 4.00am painting my little heart out 😆

Finally finished, we delivered it back to Sharon last night. Bless her, she thinks it's Just Perfect👌

Next week it's Wendy's turn, her bedroom furniture needs a face-lift. Watch this space 😘
