Based just outside Bude, North Cornwall, I am a Cornish girl born and bred. I was very lucky to have grown up on a smallholding surrounded by animals and our beautiful countryside and seaside. Alongside caring for my animals, I have always had a huge interest in arts and crafts. The bunting became a hobby after making the bunting for my wedding marquee. This led to me creating bunting for others, I found it very therapeutic and made more in my spare time to sell, various other projects followed and my little business Vanessa's Ventures Bespoke Bunting was established in 2019. I particularly love creating commissioned bunting, maybe for a special occasion such as a wedding or party, for trade or show displays, from your own favourite fabric, or just for everyday decoration for a room in your home. I can make it in any colour, theme, size or length, plain or personalised, to suit your needs, so just ask! I enjoy sourcing fabrics from our local haberdashery in Bude to meet your ideas and will even try to find fabrics to match your existing furnishings. I am always on the look out for second fabrics to benefit charity wherever possible, to recycle into new life so they can become loved again! I hope you enjoy my creations as much as I have enjoyed creating them. You will find lots of my pre-made pieces for sale on my page in the Photo Albums. When your wrap matches the flowers in the hairdressers! I bought this handmade wrap in these beautiful autumnal colours from The Crafty Cottage last week and I've been wearing it loads since, I absolutely love it! ❤️

It's a lovely new gift shop supporting local crafters, you can find them at Marsh Farm, near Stratton and currently opening on a Thursday and Saturday, where you will receive a very warm welcome. Comfy sofa, cuppa and cake/biscuits on offer too. 👌

I was recently asked with fixing the strings on this Roman blind from a holiday cottage.

I had to remove the cassettes from the casing, reattach the missing string and replace the cassettes. Luckily it all went back together again fine and the blind could be used again 🙂

Photos sent of it back in place from my happy customer (who has now asked me to fix another one!)

Well here is some food for thought! I think it is trued that most people don't value handmade items in the same way they do mass manufactured items. Out of interest, why do you think that is? I'm not talking about value of the cost, but value of the work gone into producing the item.....

Have you got a stash of coat hangers that you’ve been meaning to get rid of?

Well, we’d LOVE to take them off your hands!

We’re on the hunt for hangers for two upcoming events:

👗 SWISH & STYLE – THIS SATURDAY!
We’ll happily take any type of coat hanger to help us get ready for our Saturday!

🎄 WREATH MAKING – NEXT MONTH!
We’re also looking for wire coat hangers to use as the base for our wreaths at our upcoming wreath making session (keep your eyes peeled for more details of that coming soon!).
