Warwick Ahead has been successful with funding! 🌟

We’re delighted to announce that the local hub in the Warwick Estate in Knottingley and Recycle Your Bits shop can remain open as welcoming spaces for residents, thanks to new funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.

The project will now be widening the health and wellbeing activities offered, helping residents to feel healthier and access help locally when they need it.

This is fantastic news as Warwick Ahead has made a big difference over the years, under the leadership of people and volunteers from the estate who made decisions based on what they knew was needed and the insights of other residents.

It’s a huge win that the project will keep going for the benefit of the local community! 🎉

Nova has supported the Warwick Ahead partnership since 2016 as the Locally Trusted Organisation for the Big Local Project and worked with the Community Board to secure this new funding. We’re a charity that works with voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations across Wakefield District to help them develop, and Warwick Ahead is part of our work to strengthen community partnerships.

We are incredibly grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund and to the players whose contributions make funding like this possible 🫶

We would also like to thank the residents, volunteers, staff and partners who make Warwick Ahead what it is.

Warwick Ahead will be sharing more about upcoming activities and events. And for the local charities, community groups and social enterprises we work with at Nova – we’ll be in touch about new opportunities to get involved.

Hi guys just a post to let you know our amazing volunteers have just finished PAT testing all our electrical items!

We have lots of kettles and toasters and a gorgeous microwave! We have 2 single air fryers. All at a very cheap cost!

We have a gorgeous pink desk, a dining room table that seats 6.

We have a beautiful grey arm chair!

We have box’s of items for 50p including kids toys.

We have lots of curtains, bedding and towels, all freshly cleaned and ready to go!

Feel free to drop in and come & have a hunt around our shop. The main day for opening is Thursdays 10-3.30.
Next week we are also open Wednesday & Friday!
