Stick 'n' Step Stick 'n' Step provides Conductive Education to over 100 children from across North West UK We do not receive any statutory funding.

Stick 'n' Step have 2 centres; one in Wallasey and one in Runcorn and we currently provide free weekly or twice weekly conductive education sessions to over 100 children from across the North-West. Conductive Education is designed to help children and young people to become more mobile, more confident and more independent- ultimately helping them to reach their personal potential and to go on and live a more independent life. This development takes time and many of the children that we work with will attend Stick 'n' Step sessions for many years. It costs in the region of ยฃ750,000 per year to deliver our services annually. It costs ยฃ7000 per child, per year to provide weekly or twice weekly group conductive sessions to each child that Stick 'n' Step supports. We rely on the generosity of local people, businesses, communities and grant making trusts. We want to ensure that all families in the North West of England, regardless of financial position, are able to access the support and services they need.

โœจFine manipulation, hand-eye coordination, balance, confidence, and strength through her right side are all the buzzwords for Sophie this year. Her aims will reflect dressing skills, self-care, confidence, and balance.

We've done some fun tasks with the beads and chopsticks during one session, and Sophie is quite the pro at the old chopsticks! Not entirely sure us adults can use them that well! ๐Ÿ˜

โœจOur Tough Mudder team nearly triples fundraising target ๐Ÿ™Œ

A team of 12 parents, family members and volunteers has raised more than ยฃ8,200 for us after conquering the Tough Mudder Manchester 5K at Cheshire County Showground on Sunday 11th October.

Led by our regional fundraiser, Netty Doyle, the team set out with a target of ยฃ3,000. They have so far raised an incredible ยฃ8,201 โ€“ almost three times their goal โ€“ and their fundraising page will remain open until Monday 19th October to give supporters a final chance to donate.

The team braved more than 12 obstacles across the 5K course, including icy water plunges and muddy crawls, and crossed the finish line together.

A huge congratulations and thank you to one of our parents Simon, for completing his incredible Stick 'n' Steptember challenge and raising an amazing ยฃ2,026 so far!

โœจElla really enjoyed fine manipulation, making her hedgehog creation with the playdough and sticks. Working on the precision of fine motor skills will be one of our main aims for Ella this year, along with coordinating both hands.

In the picture of her lying on her back, we are working on dressing and un******ng skills/pushing up sleeves and pulling them down. Putting a ring (or handbag) on her arm and not letting go is a great way to practice the life skill before we do it for real.

We have been kindly donated over 50 bags of clothes and shoes and we shall be holding a sale at our Wallasey centre this coming Sunday. These are all ladies clothes in the following sizes:
- Size 7 footwear
- Sizes 8 - 16 clothing

There is a mix of new and nearly new clothes to rummage through.

Everything must go! Bring cash if you can but card payments will be available. Please also bring carrier bags as we won't have any to supply (sorry!)

Limited free parking is available at the back of our premises (turn up the small road at the end of St George's Nursing Home)

This year, we want to bring the Stick โ€˜nโ€™ Step family together for the Liverpool Santa Dash in memory of our very special Mason Booth, who sadly passed away last year.

Weโ€™re hoping to get as many of our staff, families, friends and supporters involved as possible โ€” and you donโ€™t have to be a runner!

Some of us will be running, but the majority will be taking part with a brisk walk, so thereโ€™s absolutely no pressure. We simply want to come together, raise funds for Stick 'n' Step and remember Mason along the way.
