Also a great opportunity to showcase Bigger&Better and the OT philosophies underpinning everything we do 💙💚

We’ve just come to the end of our five-week Psychological Wellbeing Programme, designed by the fabulous Sarah Kenny of My Therapist Online
The programme explored principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping people living with Parkinson’s to better manage their emotional wellbeing alongside the challenges Parkinson's can bring.
We’ve had some fabulous feedback so far and hope to offer more programmes like this in the future. We’re passionate about supporting our members in a variety of ways, looking beyond exercise to embrace a broader approach to wellbeing, so we’re delighted to add psychology education groups to our growing range of activities.

When we started Bigger & Better 8 years ago, it was meant to just be a bit of a side hustle - 1 or 2 classes a week to get a handful of people with Parkinson’s (including my Dad) exercising. Little did I know that it would evolve into 12 classes a week and various other pop up programmes, helping hundreds of people with Parkinson’s over the years and having over 100 active members at any one time. Nor did I know that I’d have an amazing team behind me to still allow me to do my day job!

I also did not expect that I would be entrusted to run events like this- this year, for the Parkinson's UK Excellence Network Exercise Hub Study Day, we had 101 people registered - that’s 101 health and fitness professionals coming together to learn and help their people with Parkinson’s live well too. It really is such an honour. Thank you to my Exercise Hub partner in crime Sophia Hulbert, the fabulous Excellence Network team, and the amazing core Hub members for making this event happen 💙

We’ve had so much going on at Bigger & Better over the past few weeks — far too much to fit into one post!
First up, we’re excited to have been working with Humanity Warwick Physio & Pilates Clinic, who are running some Reformer Pilates taster sessions for our members.
We’ve had some fantastic feedback so far, and it’s brilliant to see our people with Parkinson’s getting the chance to try something new, in a safe and supportive environment, and having fun along the way 💙

Well done Ken on this fabulous podcast episode. Many of our members will know Ken as he attends most of our classes! I don't know where he has the time on top of his walking football, pickle ball and table tennis, as well as being committee member for the Leamington and Warwick Branch of Parkinson's UK.
