It really is wonderful to find a truly untouched piece with a brilliant "crusty" patina! Pure Regency and in need of a good wax-up without removing the ages of smoke-filled, wood and coal-fired rooms.

Being an Antiques Dealer really is such fun. Daily dicoveries come my way and few have made me laugh more than this wonderful long engraving. The Long Minuet as Danced at Bath and shown here is a brilliant caricatureof high society in Georgian England by Henry William Bunbury (1750 – 1811) published by William Dickinson in 1787. Only the English can poke fun at themselves like this! https://wrharvey.com/product/a-long-minuet-as-danced-at-bath-engraving-by-henry-william-bunbury/

My first post on Instagram took place 8 years ago with a pretty little Gillows Chamber Table so it is appropriate that many hundrers of posts later I should want to show a pair of Gillows stamped pieces. I have ordered some replacement material and they will soon have the non matching panels restored to bring them back into line.

Always delighted when a piece as good as this comes my way. William and Mary period and must have been made for a good home as it would have been expensive even in about 1690! We all get a great thrill from having pieces of this quality on show here. William and Mary Period at its best and dating from about 1690! Come and see it for yourself! https://wrharvey.com/product/william-and-mary-period-marquetry-inlaid-walnut-chest-of-drawers/

What a find and a wonderful patina. A joy just to wax and shine. Must have been in one home for almost 300 years.

Further to the post on Saturday, I thought a short video would be a good idea. Enjoy watching this as much as we did shooting it.

This very pretty George II Period Walnut Lowboy came on show last thing yesterday and what a pleasure it is to have this here. Managed to get a couple of quick shots of this in time to post them today.
