Painted & Cured

It’s been a long while since I’ve posted on here but I thought I’d share our kitchen makeovers over the years - proving that you don’t need to spend £1000s to create a whole new look to your home!

The kitchen cabinets are still the originals (possibly around 15 years old now?), we have just cleaned, primed & painted them from white to blue & now green!!

5 years ago we used Fusion mineral paint (and their ultra grip product for adhesion) in midnight blue with clear stain & finishing oil which lasted 5 years in a busy kitchen but was starting to look a little tired.

Then we used BIN 123 white primer & Coat’s eggshell in colour ‘park life’ using a spray painter & are so happy with the result!!

This sweet side table looks just gorgeous in this custom blend deep green fusion mineral paint.

Remembering a favourite past project, my Grandmother’s beautiful bow fronted drawers that I had let get into a pretty sorry state in my garage for years. I washed thoroughly with Fusion’s TSP Alternative, sanded, filled with wood filler, painted in sacred sage, stained with natural stain & finishing oil, polished the original handles with the pink stuff & lined with vintage wallpaper from Grandma’s house. They are now in use in my kitchen. I love them!

These bedside drawers took a lot more restoration work than anticipated and I’m very happy to see them go to a new home and not to landfill. They have been painted in Fusion Mineral Paint’s Champlain colour, and given a protective coat of natural stain & finishing oil. New hardware & drawer liners were added to modernise the look. It’s raining today here in Worcester so I’m turning my attention to some almost 100 year old drawer handles. Not a massive difference after a good scrub with The Pink Stuff, swipe for the after pic…. I might try some vinegar next 🤔
