Dreaming of this beautiful antique settle which was reupholstered and delivered for my lovely client just in time for Christmas.

To say the seat needed a total overhaul is an under statement with most of it hanging out the bottom! A full rebuild using traditional materials and techniques to the sprung seat, back and arm pads later, and this falling apart antique has been given a new lease of life.

Choosing the top cover fabric was a really easy decision with K having fallen in love with the Omega Velvet in Seaweed - I was in total agreement. A stunning deep earthy green, which complements the rich tones of the wooden frame perfectly.

Most importantly though, the pooch has his favourite spot back for sitting in his sunny spot and watching the world go by 🐶

“Dear Olivia, what can I say… you have truly done the most amazing job on bringing my family chaise Lounge and chairs back to life.
My conservatory is a lovely bright and cheerful room to enjoy.
The help you gave me in choosing materials was also invaluable especially the samplers to get a better idea of colour. You were so helpful and I have no hesitation in recommending you to friends and family. Thank you very much, Sal”

I love collaborating with other creatives and none more than the fabulous ladies Rhian & Zoe

Last week Truffle and I popped in to chat all things velvet with Zoe for an upcoming design project.
With keen eyes for design and detail it’s always a fun and inspiring process to dig out the perfect materials together; focussing on not only the look & feel of the pile and how that would sit and move on the piece but also the durability & suitability of the velvet for its intended use.

We’ve narrowed the search down to the beautiful Omega Velvet from & the Eco Velvet by - both options look and feel deliciously soft but also come with a stain guard finish & high martindale test ratings, perfect for upholstery in high use areas!

Watch this space for what we go for!

Something a little different to share today!
You may remember I posted a few snippets during the build process of this HUGE bespoke headboard and bed frame I upholstered in collaboration with Simon

✨ Happy New Year! ✨

I’m back in the workshop after a lovely couple of weeks off and I couldn’t wait to share this beautiful pair of fireside armchairs.
Stripped back to the frame and fully re-built using traditional materials & techniques and finished in a stunning deep pink Omega velvet by my fave

Who else wants to just hide away from this cold and dreary January and curl up in front of the fire with me? 🙋🏼‍♀️

Reupholstery is such a brilliant way to totally transform a piece of furniture. In this case Juliet wanted to really bring her two sofas up to date and modernise them with a deep bold velvet and new cushions.

After searching through many samples and colour options we landed on Eco Velvet in Kingfisher; a beautiful rich colourway which really evolves throughout the day depending on the light.

(I always recommend to clients to have the samples draped over the back of the chair for a few days so you can see them in all lights as they can change quite dramatically in daylight compared to artificial light at night as you can see from these photos!)

Paired with some new feather wrapped foam seat and back cushion pads from All Shapes Cushions, they look fresh, modern and super inviting!

✨I actually think this is my favourite transformation to date! ✨

When Kyia first sent me some photos and videos we knew this was going to be a bit of a mission to repair and re-build but I was definitely up for the challenge.

Kyia had fallen in love with the incredible chaise in Matilda Goads own home so we had a bit of guidance for how she’d like the style and shape.
We opted to build out the arms and base to give a much more substantial look. A traditional scroll to the arm facings fit in with the decor and style in their beautiful cottage renovation, and we finished off with some sumptuous feather cushions to sink into!

We searched high and low for fabrics but nothing was living up to the bold and colourful floral printed cotton as seen on Matilda’s original chaise so the decision was made source the same fabric from

Swipe through to see what a sorry state this drop arm chaise was in when it arrived in the workshop!
