I had the fantastic opportunity to work with a wonderful, talented client, Christina, on her new aesthetics clinic in Guernsey. From concept stage to grand reveal it was a total joy. For maximum impact, Christina chose stunning papers from for the walls, complemented by a mixture of prints and textures from bold monochrome tiles, to luscious animal print velvets, to opulent shiny golds - All of my favourite things 😜

After putting together a number of mood boards to inspire and generate ideas for the spaces, I was able to create three custom pieces for my client to fully embrace the clinic design scheme whilst delivering on what they needed.

I really love it when a client has such a passion for creativity and design and is open to new ideas. Who said that these spaces need to be all white and boring?! I know I’d rather be escaping to an elegant, luxurious and one of a kind sanctuary like this!!!

THE DARK TRUTH: all four of the pieces of upcycled vintage furniture featured here could have been destined for landfill, how shocking would that have been? Whilst professional upcyclers are saving pieces of furniture like this every week and have been doing so for over a decade, things are not moving fast enough. These artisans do not receive the acclaim, accreditation and media attention they deserve - in a world where repeated destruction of valuable resources is a constant, our members are benefiting people and planet in a way that is easy to understand, access and appreciate. It’s a dark truth that we continue to overlook the enormous aesthetic, environmental, economic and social benefits that designer-remakers bring to the interiors table, in favour of items which have less individuality, are of a lesser quality but cause more environmental and wellbeing harm. As there is a dark theme to today’s Friday Montage, it’s appropriate that the items showcased are suited to interiors that embrace a more dramatic flavour. Good morning. Sharing with you some images of this piece in my client’s beautiful grade II period home. We created something colourful and unique that remained complimentary to the surroundings and highly functional.

Sharing with you this striking desk that formed the final part of a three piece project for my client’s new aesthetics clinic in Guernsey. My client had a clear idea in terms of the functionality of her consultation desk and how she would like it to look. Thinking outside the box, I was able to convert this unloved vintage dressing table into her vision.

Finished in Coal Black and lots of gold leaf, the drawers have been lined in this fabulous paper by to link and complement the accompanying display cabinet (see earlier post). I look forward to sharing some images of the pieces in their new home with you soon.

Not one to shy away from a challenge, I’ve been working hard to transform this damaged and neglected, but once much used, antique Abbess teacher’s desk.

My lovely client was looking for something functional that would complement the original library room within her new grade II listed home.

As usual, I pulled together some mood boards and we agreed that this Arts and Crafts-style motif, decorated with blooms, birds and swirling vines would work perfectly against a backdrop of original tapestries, tiles and window art work. Contrasted with this dramatic Hague Blue from it gives vibes of a magnificent historical painting. Very fitting with the property whilst complementing my client’s personal interiors style.

Finished with my signature distressed gold and the most gorgeous cup handles in deep antique brass by this damaged and neglected (but solid and excellently crafted) piece of history is now ready to be loved and enjoyed for many more years to come.

Hi Friends, I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather.

I’ve been a little quiet on here. I had a lovely week off with my little boy before he started school this week. Where does the time go?! I’ve been helping him to settle in before he attends full time from next week. Such a big transition.

I’m excited to share with you some details of an exciting project I’ve been supporting over the summer. I’ve been working on a few commissions including this stunning vintage display cabinet.

This is one of three pieces that have now safely made their way to my gorgeous client’s new facial aesthetics clinic, which will soon be opening in Guernsey.

My client has been an absolute dream to work with and together we worked on the design scheme for the two main rooms and, as part of this, I have created a sideboard/sink unit, desk and display cabinet which will showcase products beautifully.
