Ποιότητα ύπνου και κολπική μαρμαρυγή: πώς συνδέονται;

While you sleep, your heart keeps beating. But did you know that sleep and heart rhythm may be more closely connected than you think?
Here are three things worth knowing:
𝟏. 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡.
Getting sufficient, regular and restorative sleep supports overall cardiovascular health.
𝟐. 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐚𝐩𝐧𝐨𝐞𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Obstructive sleep apnoea causes repeated interruptions in breathing during sleep and is associated with an increased risk of atrial fibrillation (AF), a common heart rhythm disorder.
𝟑. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐫𝐡𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐦 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐠𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐝.
Not everyone experiences obvious symptoms when their heart rhythm changes. When clinically appropriate, longer-term ECG monitoring can help healthcare professionals assess heart rhythm over time, including during sleep and everyday activities.

Aim for a regular sleep routine.
Speak with a healthcare professional if you experience persistent loud snoring, witnessed pauses in breathing during sleep or excessive daytime sleepiness.
If you have concerns about your heart rhythm, discuss them with your healthcare professional.
Better sleep is one part of a healthier heart. And understanding your heart starts with knowing what to look for.
