🌿🌸 A lovely morning of planting in Ballymote Town Park! 🌸🌿

We had a wonderful morning with the Transition Year students from Corran College , who came out to give back to their community and help us with some of our Ballymote Tidy Towns biodiversity projects.

The students got stuck in planting native bluebells, wood anemones and wild garlic in the shaded woodland areas of the town park. 🌱

These native woodland flowers will provide an important source of food for early pollinators and help improve biodiversity in the park.

A big thank you to all the students and their teachers for coming along and lending a hand. It's fantastic to see young people getting involved in looking after their local environment! 💚

🐦 New bird boxes installed in Ballymote Park today! 🌳

We're delighted to have installed bird nesting boxes in Ballymote Park today, helping to provide additional nesting opportunities for our local birdlife.

A big thank you to Sligo County Council and LEAF funding for supporting this biodiversity initiative, and a special thanks to Vitalii for helping us install the boxes!

🦇 New bat boxes installed in Ballymote Park!

We’ve recently installed a number of bat boxes around the park to provide additional roosting opportunities for our local bat populations.

A big thank you to Clive Bright Rare Ruminare for installing the boxes for us, and to Sligo County Council for funding the project through the Local Environmental Action Fund (LEAF).

Another small step towards making the park a better place for local wildlife and biodiversity. 🌿🦇

Itinerary for Town Centre First visit with Sligo County Council appointed consultants, AP&E Architects:

Friday 25th September:

2:00-4:00 p.m. Drop-in session in the Library. A meeting room has been booked and community representatives can pop in and share their TCF views with the consultants.

5:30- 6:45 p.m. Walkaround Ballymote by the Town Team and the consultants.

7:00- 8:30 p.m. TCF Consultation Workshop - Option 1 in the Day Care Centre, facilitated by the consultants.

Saturday 26th September:

10:30-11:15 a.m. Walkaround the Community Park by the Park Committee and the consultants.

11:30-1:00 p.m. TCF Consultation Workshop - Option 2 in the Library, facilitated by the consultants.
