🔌⚡ KITCHEN DESIGN TIP: 3 PLACES PEOPLE FORGET SOCKETS (UNTIL IT’S TOO LATE!) ☕🍞

When planning a new kitchen build or renovation, everyone focuses on door styles, colours, and worktops. But one of the biggest daily frustrations homeowners face comes down to socket and power placement!

Getting your electrical points locked into your CAD layout early saves you running messy extension leads across pristine countertops later. Here are 3 places you should never overlook:

🥐 1. Inside the Pantry or Breakfast Dresser:

Don't clutter up your luxury quartz or Dekton worktops with everyday small appliances! Wiring double sockets inside a bi-fold pantry or breakfast station lets you run your toaster, coffee machine, and kettle completely out of sight. When you’re done, simply close the doors for an instantly tidy kitchen.

🧑‍🍳 2. The Island Gable or Recessed Power Strip:

The central island is the social and prep hub of the home—whether you’re plugging in a hand mixer for baking, blitzing soup, or working on a laptop. Adding flush pop-up power towers on the island surface or discrete under-counter side sockets makes food prep and home working effortless without cables trailing across floor walkways.

🔋 3. Dedicated Utility & Larder Charging Shelves:

Cordless stick vacuums, tablets, and handheld gadgets all need homes. Planning a dedicated tall cabinet or utility cupboard with integrated high-level power points means everything stays charged and tucked away behind closed joinery.

📐 Top Tip: Work with your designer to map out your morning routine before first-fix electricals go in. It ensures every plug serves a specific purpose.

Save this checklist for your upcoming kitchen build or renovation! 📌

☀️🌱 POWERING CEDARWOOD WITH CLEAN SOLAR ENERGY 🌱☀️

At Cedarwood Furniture, crafting bespoke kitchens and fine joinery isn't just about the finished product it’s about how responsibly we manufacture right here in Wexford.

Over the past few years, we’ve made major solar PV investments across our operations, and the numbers speak for themselves:

🏭 Camross Manufacturing Facility (Active since July 2021): Over the past five years, solar power has become an integral part of our daily workshop operations. Year-to-date in 2026, the system has averaged 41% of our factory's total electricity demand powering panel saws, CNC machines, and assembly lines directly on daylight.

🏢 New Ross Showroom (Installed July 2026): Since going live this summer, our showroom setup has completely covered 100% of our power usage, lighting and running our displays while exporting clean surplus energy back to the national grid! ⚡

🔜 Enniscorthy Showroom Up Next: We’re not stopping there plans are already in motion to roll out solar PV across our Enniscorthy showroom next, bringing our entire retail and production footprint under renewable energy.

🌿 Sustainable Irish Manufacturing: Continually cutting our grid reliance means every kitchen, wardrobe, and commercial project leaving our workshops carries a cleaner, lighter environmental footprint.

Investing in local Wexford infrastructure and renewable energy keeps our craft future-proof, efficient, and sustainable for the years ahead.

Swipe through to see the arrays in action across both sites! 📸👇
