Wood crafting is in Richard's blood – the joinery where he was schooled in the art of wood had been founded by his grandfather Micky Walsh and was, at that time, being run by his uncle. From day one, Richard took a conscious decision to produce the best work possible using only top-quality materials. We are very conscious about our impact on the environment, both locally and nationally. This is why we source all our wood from sustainable sources. Additionally, we have embarked on a tree-planting programme to replace some of the wood we use. Each year, we plant approximately 100 native Irish trees – such as Oak, Elm, Ash, Beech and Chestnut – on the side of the Comeragh Mountains.
