Upholstery workshops will be back in Newbridge for October dates below , the 25/26 will be a 2 daycourse . You can bring your own chair I will need a picture of the chair you wish to do .

I would love a conversation with the person who upholstered this couch , who in their right mind uses 6 layers of staples on each piece of fabric ? it has taken 4 days to strip this and its still not completely clean .

Finally managed to strip this pretty little chair , the upholsterer before had covered the original shape with wadding and so it was out of proportion with the seat they had also used 3 inch nails to fix it in place along with a lot of glue , now to strip the frame back so it can be repaired restained and polished before getting its new cover of blue velvet .

A few moments away from the madness this morning it's been a year of huge change some of it not in a good way but the saying what doesn't kill you make you stronger comes to mind ,a trip to Terryglass with a friend picked up honey and beeswax , a really pretty cream jug from finn ceramics and some beautiful fresh potatoes unfortunately no picture nothing like fresh potatoes covered in butter to make your heart sing , coffee and cinnamon pastries in always good service and good coffee ! The village looked stunning the effort that had been put in definitely paid off in bucket loads .Then back home to make honey and vanilla ice cream and soda bread a day for the soul .

Well this happened yesterday ! A huge thank you to Michael for the beautiful ballon back chairs he has some lovely chairs in at the moment take a look . I can now continue to teach upholstery workshops there are enough chairs for 8 classes if you would like to take an upholstery workshop please dm me . Also a big thank you to mick for taking the time out to load and bring them back to Glenbower House.

Its been a busy week with upholstering this pair of chairs a couple of hospital appointments and a fire in the car caused by the wiring but the pair of armchairs returned home this week , photos and light are deceptive this pair are actually pale grey/blue and a beautiful weave . Some chairs are way more stylish than others and this is at the top for me , made by a craftsman that knew what he was at , beautiful proportioned and so comfortable to sit in . I re seated the springs and rewebbed the back before upholstering in this stunning orange linen from back in its home now .

When we place chairs in a room the back ofthe chair usually faces a wall and we never take any notice of the back of it but some chairs have elegant backs , beautifully proportioned and just crying out to be seen here is one such chair in fact knew of a pair heading home on Thursday.
