Very important information about NEET 2020 which will be held in July 2020.
1_Academic Qualification:
Candidates who have passed or are appearing in class 12th or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English as core subjects from a recognized board.
2_Age limit:
Candidate must be 17 years of age by December 31, 2020.
There is no upper age bar in NEET 2020. However, this is subject to the orders of the Supreme Court.
3_Maximum Number of Attempts:
There is no restrictions on number of attempts in NEET 2020.
4_Nationality of Candidate:
Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs and Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply.
5_Qualifying Marks:
Qualifying marks in class XII for each category are:
General/GEN-EWS- 50%
OBC/SC/ST- 40%
PwD- 45%
Exam Pattern of NEET
• NEET exam pattern will be the simple objective type containing total180 questions.
Physics 45 questions
Chemistry 45 questions
Botany 45 questions
Zoology 45 questions
HISTORY OF NEET
• Initially NEET was proposed in year 2012.
• But Supreme Court cancelled the NEET exam on 18th July 2013.
• On 4th May 2014, CBSE planned to re-conduct AIPMT.
• NEET, was declared illegal and unconstitutional by Supreme Court of India in 2013.
However, it was restored on April 11, 2016.
• The Supreme Court in May 2016 again gave the green signal for the CBSE to hold
National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2016-17 in two phases.
