You asked and we delivered , Welcome to Subi’s kitchen!
One today’s menu: ‘Thayir Satham’ or Curd Rice
This is one of the easiest Tamil dishes to make and is usually eaten at the end of a spicy meal to counter act the 🌶. Super easy to make and so delicious!
Ingredients:
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
3-4 dry red chillis (shake the seeds out)
8-9 curry leaves
1.5 cups of curd / natural yogurt
A pinch of salt
0.5 cup of milk
4-5 cups of boiled rice.
Add all the ingredients in that order and then let it simmer for 2-4 minutes. Once it’s cooked, you can serve it was poppadums, mango pickle and some spicy potatoes (recipe to follow).

Last week, with the help of two brilliant design students from Lancaster University, we completed the first (virtual) ‘Bright Ideas’ internship!
We are so proud to offer this opportunity for design students in order to give them work experience that aims to bridge the gap between design theory and practice.
Our team loved working with Maya and Sarah, ideating and learning about what constitutes ‘good’ design. We spoke about the various prototyping methods, sustainability in design practice, and culture thinking. We can’t wait to offer this internship to more LICA students in 2021!

If you’ve visited Teddy Exports, then you’ll know that we have the best food for miles around, and that’s all down to the Canteen. Subi and the rest of the canteen team supply over 1400 staff and children with amazing food daily, that’s either free or subsidised by the Teddy Trust. Let us know in the comments if you’d like us to post some of Subi’s most famous recipes.

It’s World AIDS Day and we’re so proud to have multiple staff and students afflicted with HIV that are actively breaking down stigma and stereotypes associated with the disease.
Today, we celebrate them and their perseverance against the unknown.
We’ll continue our fight to stop transmission of HIV through our trust projects like the HIV/AIDS awareness camps and the Star Project, which aims to provide vocational training to female s*x workers in order for them to have an alternative means of income.
It’s so important that we keep the conversation going and break the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS in order to get people tested regularly and not be afraid of asking for help.
