A Heritage Retreat Amidst Nature

Nestled in serene hills and surrounded by majestic Pine forest is a Heritage Property built in 1911 for British and Gorkha Armies. Takdah Heritage Colonial Bunglow No. 12 used to be a British Army officers bunglow built on 1911 at Takdah Cantonment, Darjeeling. It located in the lap of pine forest away from the town yet it is well connected with road links. This Heritage bunglow is now a luxurious resort with all modern amenities wall mounted LEDs, spring beds, fully furnished rooms, western washrooms with tub and hot water. A conferencing hall for business meetings, green lawn in the front, backyard gardens and fresh water stream nearby are added bonanza for spending treasured vacations. Takdah is nearly 2 and half hours’ drive from NJP and Bagdogra airport and one hour drive from Darjeeling town. Being a British cantonment it is famous for its landscape, heritage bunglows, sunrise views, Jungle trails. Tourist can opt for local sightseeing like visiting Tea gardens,Takdah Monastry, Takdah Orchid centre, Tinchulay view point, Gumba Dara view point (for best Kanchanjunga view), Orange orchard garden and 100 years old bridge.

Today, I had the wonderful opportunity to watch the Bengali film Abar Bochor Kuri Pore on YouTube, which was shot at Bungalow No. 12 many years ago.
Watching the film brought back a deep sense of nostalgia and pride. It was truly a delight to see this beautiful heritage property featured on screen.
