Thai Airways Employees' Association, India is campaigning against the illegal, unlawful, arbitrary decision taken by the Cargo Management of Thai Airways International Public Company Limited in Bangkok to grant extension of service to Area Cargo Sales and Operations Manager-India, who was held guilty of sexual harassment case. The management has also arbitrarily decided to hand over the cargo department in Delhi to GSSA at the behest of this same molester. What a shame.

Subject:- “Charter of Demands for the years 2015-2017”
Dear Khun Korakot,
It is with regret and disappointment, we state that in response to our email communication to you on 20th June 2015, your reply dated 24th June 2015 seems very indifferent, casual and callous. It is devoid of genuine resolve and intent. Merely stating that you are awaiting Board of Directors’ guidelines in the increase in salaries worldwide has no relevance to our Charter of Demands submitted to you on 18th December 2014. It further gives an indication that Area India has again been equated with other stations in the network which means that the “Principle of Collective Bargaining” has not been understood by you in the right earnest and legality as laws governing the workers’ rights in India have no consequence to the situation prevailing in other regions of the world. Our earlier communication substantiates our outstanding performance from the region thus we reserve the right to have an early settlement of our “Charter of Demands” that are based on local laws and legal provisions, irrespective of the guidelines from Head Office in Bangkok.
This inordinate delay also seems to be a usual tactic with the management as a similar situation arose during the pendency of the settlement for period 2012-2014, which took nearly a year and a few months to sign an agreement with retrospective effect from 1st January 2012, & which could have been avoided in the first place. Such delaying tactics give rise to demoralising effects on the members, besides financial hardships on the employees that is equally avoidable.
Notwithstanding the clear mandate of the members of our union, we could have opted for other recourse, but we once again reiterate that in order to sustain a healthy employer-employee relationship that has been in place since last few years, we urge upon you to speed up the process of negotiations at the earliest possible, on the basis of our financial potentials and capabilities. The phenomenal increase in passenger revenues from January to June in 2015 surely demands a fair treatment of our “Charter of Demands”.
In all fairness, we appeal to you to call upon the authorized representatives of the union to negotiate the “Charter of Demands” in totality to avoid disharmony, disappointment and resentment among the members.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
General Secretary
Anjali Tikku
