WE 27/05/2021

Miles to go before we sleep.

As this bamboo set shows up as part of the dowry, a sense of accomplishment stays for moments..

Beeja was initiated and was inspired by the 'atta chakki' model and the 'garh moordha' of Garh Mukteshwar, a classic example of self sustained and flourishing craft cm cottage industry then in the year 2004.

it was a mission to sensitise the adopted community with local materials, grass-root techniques and practices.

Today after almost a decade the impact of the efforts and thoughts surfaces. the local community takes pride in bamboo as material and are happy to practice the craft as livelihood. They now own it.
So does the papiermache group and the Block carving group.

It is a happy moment for all.
