Hackathon is about coding together to solve real-world problems for a day or so i.e they last 24 hours or longer.Generally hackathons focuses on applications that make use of API's from a company or data source.They are generally based on themes like mobile apps, music ,travelling,social gaming app development etc. After sitting for so long,especially when it is competitive one,eating is often informal, with participants often subsisting on food like pizza and energy drinks.
