The books that help you most are those which make you think that most. Pablo Neruda
The hardest way of learning is that of easy reading; but a great book that comes from a great thinker is a ship of thought, deep freighted with truth and beauty.

A DEAD SOLDIER WHO IS 'ALIVE' IN THE INDIAN ARMY!

There's an old intriguing tale of a dead soldier who recently retired from the Indian army. Lance Naik Harbhajan Singh has been dead for over 40 years, but till recently, was an active soldier serving in the Indian army.
The story has its origin in 1968. Lance Naik Harbhajan Singh while guarding the snowy mountainous borders at Nathu-la on India China border died in an avalanche – although his body was never found.
It appears that he showed up in the dream of a colleague, requesting that he be considered alive. The colleague ignored, but Harbhajan Singh became a nightmare for the unit as he appeared in the dreams of other colleagues and officers. Promptly, he was declared “alive” by the army. Consequently, he draws a full salary and goes on a leave. A berth on a train is reserved in his name and two orderlies accompany him on the journey back from the border to his native village. Just 15 miles from his home, an army vehicle receives him, he stays overnight at the regimental gurdwara before heading home. He even got promoted to the rank to honorary captain.
There is a stretch of the border that he patrols on his own and has promised that the troops will have a 72-hour warning before any untoward happening. Soldiers vouch for the fact that Harbhajan’s avalanche warnings on occasions have been quite accurate. When he goes on leave, additional troops have to be deployed for patrolling which are pulled back when he returns on November 15. Even the Chinese set aside a chair for him whenever border meetings are held. They have reported seeing a Sikh soldier guarding alone on the Indian side of the border.

An excerpt from The Other Side
Meet Dr. Nikhil and his wife Lavanya, a modern couple still coming to terms with life in the village, thanks to the former's recent transfer.
Their boring routine life will get a thunderous jolt when a casual late-night dinner trip will make them end up at a haveli, a haveli that has been shut for the past eighty years!
An excerpt from 'That Fateful Night,' a story from 'The Other Side':
'Around the same time, the disturbing feeling in my chest began to rise. I rolled down the window further sensing that something was not right. I checked the audio player that had gone blank and then I realized the night had become absolutely still, no sound reached my ears, even the nightjars had called it a night. Momentarily, I looked out of the window and from the gap between the trees, I saw a flash of white rush past.
I gasped and braked suddenly and at the same time something banged against the side of the car. Lavanya screamed and pulled me back as a face emerged at the window.'
