Is your ambulance always emergency-ready?
A recent report by Free Press Journal highlighted that 82 out of 427 ambulances inspected in Mumbai between January and August 2026 were found violating rules — nearly 1 in every 5 ambulances inspected.
The inspections covered not only documentation and vehicle fitness, but also important requirements such as oxygen availability, stretcher and first-aid equipment, emergency lights, sirens, brakes, tyres and other safety-related checks.
For every ambulance owner and operator, this is an important reminder:
Ambulance readiness should be checked regularly — not only when an RTO inspection is due.
Because compliance is ultimately about something far more important than avoiding a fine.
It is about patient safety and emergency readiness.
