The island's sliding countertop moves smoothly across the surface, concealing the functional area beneath and transforming the entire island into a sculptural, monolithic volume.

When closed, the natural grain of solid wood takes center stage, while the exposed dovetail joints along the sides reveal the precision and expertise behind its construction.

A traditional woodworking technique becomes a defining design feature, giving character to the kitchen's clean, architectural silhouette.

Real wood takes center stage, revealing its natural grain and character. Traditional dovetail joints become a distinctive feature, visible in the drawers and even in the construction of the kitchen counter, showcasing the precision of Italian woodworking.

The signature 45° ergonomic handle is seamlessly integrated into the design, offering a comfortable grip while preserving the kitchen's clean, architectural lines.

A different perspective on storage.

𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐎𝐗, designed by DSIGNIO for Riva1920, explores the relationship between geometric volumes, solid wood and carefully considered details.

Its distinctive composition features three modules: a central cabinet with internal shelves and an integrated solid wood bottle rack, framed by two suspended drawer units that give the piece its architectural character.

Behind its clean lines lies the precision of traditional woodworking. Dovetail joints, milled handles and soft-close hinges reveal the attention given to every functional detail.

Crafted from solid wood and blockboard, APARADOX brings a distinctive presence to contemporary living and dining spaces, with different wood species and finishes available to suit individual interiors.

The flowing shapes of desert dunes become the inspiration behind 𝐃𝐔𝐍𝐄 and 𝐃𝐔𝐍𝐄.𝟏, the new chairs designed by CarlesiTonelli for Riva1920.

Their distinctive silhouettes recall the soft, continuous curves of sand shaped by the wind, translated into an enveloping backrest that defines the character of both designs.

While DUNE expresses this concept through a slender, elegant profile, DUNE.1 introduces a fuller, more generous backrest that extends into wider armrests, offering additional comfort and support.

Inspired by the fluid movement of a rolled sheet of paper, WRAP transforms a simple gesture into a sculptural bench carved from solid, fragrant reclaimed Cedar of Lebanon.

Its flowing curves reveal the expressive beauty of the wood, while the natural grain and distinctive balsamic fragrance give every piece its own unique character.

𝐖𝐄𝐁, the table designed by Authentic Design for Riva1920, has been selected for the prestigious ADI Design Index 2026, becoming an official candidate for the Compasso d’Oro 2028 in the Design for Living category.

At the heart of the project lies an unexpected structural challenge: supporting a 4 cm-thick solid wood tabletop with a remarkably lightweight carbon fibre base weighing just 2 kg.

The intricate woven structure of carbon fibre provides the strength needed to support the substantial weight of solid wood, while creating an almost weightless visual effect.

Two materials with completely different identities: the warmth and authenticity of solid wood, the technical precision and lightness of carbon fibre.

WEB challenges conventional perceptions of weight, strength and design, demonstrating how material innovation can open up new possibilities for solid wood furniture.

ADI DESIGN INDEX 2026

Two Riva1920 products have been selected for the ADI Design Index 2026: WRAP, bench designed by lualdimeraldi studio, and WEB, table designed by Authentic Design, Riva1920’s in-house research and development studio.

Both have been selected as candidates for the Compasso d’Oro 2028, in the Design for Living category.

An important recognition for Riva1920 and for the designers behind these projects, confirming the value of the research, craftsmanship and design culture that guide our work every day.
