💡 Who is Ettore Sottsass?

Ettore Sottsass is a well known Italian architect and designer but his work expands far beyond that. He was a painter, ceramicist, jewellery maker and he designed lighting, furniture and office ware as well. Sottsass defined the late 20th century with his bold colors and patterns, believing that design should be sensual and exciting. His designs leave a lasting impression today.

Offhome is proud to have several of his light fixtures in our possession, the Ashoka Lamp and the Tahiti Lamp. The lamps were created by the Memphis Group () which was founded by Sottsass and known for its pop art style.
