cc-tapis cc-tapis produces contemporary hand-knotted rugs designed by the world's top designers. Our rugs are proudly made by hand in Nepal by Tibetan artisans.

Producing entirely by hand means we are able to provide bespoke services to interior specialists. Far from mass production, cc-tapis aims to offer a tailored service to those who understand and enjoy a high-end product, where a three month production time contains a story of ageless culture. cc-tapis was founded by Nelcya and Fabrizio Cantoni in France who have been producing hand-knotted rugs in Nepal for over 16 years. In 2011 cc-tapis moved to Milan where the company is now based and a team of designers innovate through a new approach to traditional methods. cc-tapis produces contemporary hand-knotted rugs which are all completely hand-knotted by expert Tibetan artisans in Nepal. Undyed raw materials, innovative weaving patterns and techniques are key parts of the process. A strong respect for the materials and for the culture of this ancient craft is reflected in the company’s eco-friendly approach to every step of the production, ranging from the hand-spinning of the softest Himalayan wool to the use of purified rainwater for the washing of the final products, making each one of cc-tapis rugs unique.

Marks of Time, a new rug collection designed by Rooms Studio for cc-tapis.

Rooted in Georgia’s rich and layered cultural heritage, the collection explores the traces that time leaves behind, transforming familiar signs, handwritten letters, typography and everyday graphic references into tactile surfaces.

Reflecting a cultural identity shaped by layers of history, language and visual traditions, these fragments shift between recognition and abstraction through the art of hand-knotting. Language becomes texture, handwriting becomes rhythm, and familiar forms acquire a new physical presence.

Marks of Time explores the relationship between visual memory and craftsmanship, revealing how cultural references can be preserved, transformed and reinterpreted through material.

The collection is currently on view as part of Cold Warm, an exhibition by Rooms Studio conceived by Nata Janberidze in Paris, open until November 7, 2026.

Presented within Cold Warm, an exhibition conceived by nata_janberidze, Marks of Time explores the traces that time leaves behind through signs, words, and gestures. Typography, handwritten letters, arrows, and rough drawings are translated into hand-knotted rugs, where familiar marks shift between recognition and abstraction. Through the art of knotting, their outlines soften and their meanings evolve, transforming everyday visual references into tactile surfaces that bring together memory, language, and traditional craftsmanship.

A labyrinth of lines, an illusion of depth.

Inspired by Piero Fornasetti’s Geometrico (1954), Musciarabia transforms geometric precision into a hypnotic visual experience. Hand-knotted in Nepal from 100% New Zealand wool, its varying pile heights enhance the sense of depth and amplify the trompe-l’œil effect.

A face glimpsed through a keyhole.

Featuring Lina Cavalieri, muse of Piero Fornasetti, this design plays with the delicate tension between revealing and concealing. Crafted using the jacquard technique, the rug combines New Zealand wool and linen, bringing depth and texture to the intricate pattern.

A celestial icon, reimagined in all its splendour.

The sun holds a special place in Piero Fornasetti’s visual universe. Here, its familiar face is surrounded by an elaborate arrangement of curls and rays, giving the motif a more ornate expression. Hand-knotted in Nepal from 100% New Zealand wool, the rug features different pile heights that define the face and the sun’s mane, bringing out the details of the original design.

A familiar story in unexpected forms.

Inspired by the theme of Original Sin, this design draws on Piero Fornasetti’s distinctive visual language. A serpent winds across an emerald-green field, its sinuous lines interrupted by the vivid red of an apple. Hand-knotted in Nepal using Merino wool, New Zealand wool and silk, the rug combines different textures, with silk threads adding a subtle sheen to the apple and selected details.

🌞The Fornasetti collection extends beyond the floor with a series of three tapestries designed to be hung on the wall, bringing the Fornasetti’s distinctive imagery into a new dimension.
Each piece features hand-embroidered motifs and details, bringing recurring elements from Fornasetti’s visual vocabulary to life: butterflies, Lina Cavalieri’s lips and hands adorned with jewels.
Set against the softly coloured walls of Palazzo Camozzi, the tapestries add another layer of ornament and storytelling to the interiors, like precious works of art with a playful, surreal character.

☀The Fornasetti Collection at Palazzo Camozzi

A dialogue between Fornasetti’s iconic archival motifs and cc-tapis’ artisanal savoir-faire, brought to life within the historic interiors of Palazzo Camozzi, home to GSL Gallery in Bergamo.

Richly decorated and eclectic, with layered history and an almost otherworldly atmosphere, the Palazzo becomes a natural setting for FORNASETTI’s surrealist and dreamlike imagery. Here, illusion, ornament and storytelling meet, creating a space suspended between past and imagination.

🦋 SOFT WOOD RUG by Bethan Laura Wood

“I love to create visual landscapes or depth within my work through the details and patternation” - Bethan Laura Wood

Rooted in Bethan Laura Wood’s extensive work with custom wooden veneers, the non-repeating pattern of Soft Wood Rug takes on a new dimension in Himalayan wool. Mirrored shapes, shifting colours and intricate details create a mesmerizing soft-focus effect, where bats, butterflies and mysterious creatures seem to emerge and disappear across the surface.

For the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale, Patricia Urquiola reinterpreted the interiors of Ca’ di Dio, bringing new colours, materials and domestic elements to the historic Venetian hotel.

Among the pieces featured in the project was the Patcha Collection, a playful composition of colour and texture made from discarded wool and leftover silk from previous rug productions.

Layered shades of mint green, lavender, taupe and burgundy evoke the shifting colours and reflections of the Venetian lagoon.

Florence Collection by Studio Omecara.

A sculptural exploration of drapery, body, and nature, where textile moves beyond decoration to become surface, volume, and image.
Monarch, Venus, and Heart form a triptych that reinterprets historical references through material presence, transforming fabric into a living, tactile field shaped by absence and memory.
Each piece is hand-tufted in 100% wool, occupying a space between painting, sculpture, and textile—where matter itself becomes narrative.

Exclusively represented and available at Galleria Rossana Orlandi, Milan.

cc-tapis PROJECT x Casa Italia in London, by Nick Vinson

Interior designer Nick Vinson led the creation of Casa Italia, the new Italian institutional hub at Buckingham Gate, just steps from Buckingham Palace. Set within a Victorian building spanning nearly 2,000 sqm, the project marks a milestone for Italy’s presence in London—bringing together efficiency, sustainability, and cultural identity under one roof. From autumn 2025, Casa Italia will welcome more than 80 officials from the Embassy of Italy, the Italian Cultural Institute, and Italian Trade Agency, alongside an ever-changing community of international stakeholders from the worlds of culture, business, academia and beyond.

cc-tapis created a series of bespoke hand-tufted rugs for the project, designed by Nick Vinson to anchor the interiors in a rich dialogue of Italian heritage. Referencing some of Italy’s most iconic floors—from Villa Borsani and the Baths of Caracalla to Palazzo della Pilotta and Carlo Scarpa’s Olivetti showroom—the designs reinterpret historic architectural motifs into soft, contemporary surfaces.
