Wall shelf designed by Vittorio Parigi and Nani Prina for Molteni in the 1970s. A furnishing accessory distinguished by its sculptural and geometric structure, reflecting the formal experimentation of Italian design during the period.

Made of plastic with a glossy black finish, the shelf features a continuous, articulated profile defined by horizontal planes connected through angled surfaces and sharp changes in direction. Its distinctive configuration creates multiple display levels and open compartments, alternating solid surfaces and empty spaces in a dynamic composition.

The asymmetrical design and angular lines give the piece an architectural character, transforming a functional element into a decorative object with a strong visual identity. The monochromatic finish enhances the interplay of light and shadow created by the different angles of its surfaces.

Model MG14 sideboard designed by Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno in the 1960s. A modular storage system reflecting the designer's exploration of functionality, compositional flexibility and formal rigour, characteristic of Tecno's production during this period.

The structure develops horizontally through three wooden storage units, connected by metal hinges that allow the side modules to pivot in relation to the central cabinet. The latter features two lockable sliding doors concealing four internal drawers with shaped recessed pulls. The side units are open and fitted with shelves, providing easily accessible storage for books and objects.

A long wooden top, supported by metal elements, extends across the entire composition, creating an additional display surface and emphasising the linear development of the piece. The contrast between the wooden surfaces, metal details and dark plinth defines a restrained aesthetic in which each component serves a precise structural purpose.

The ability to rotate the side units allows the furniture to be arranged in different configurations, from a fully linear layout to a more articulated composition, reflecting a dynamic and versatile approach to interior furnishing.

Condition: Good overall condition, minor signs of use.

Model 849 armchair designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina in the 1950s. A representative example of the Milanese designer's approach, combining the structural rigour of a wooden frame with the soft, enveloping forms of the upholstered body.

The armchair features a dark wooden frame with angled legs and connecting stretchers, supporting a suspended seat with flowing contours. The armrests, integrated into the upholstered shell, extend outwards in a distinctive curve, while the broad, slightly reclined backrest enhances the welcoming character of the design.

The contrast between the essential geometry of the frame and the continuous upholstered surfaces reflects the balance between construction and comfort characteristic of postwar Italian design. The light-coloured fabric upholstery, with its rich, irregular texture, enhances the armchair's volumes and sculptural silhouette.

Condition: Excellent overall condition, padding and upholstery replaced.

Dimensions: Length 85 cm – Depth 70 cm – Height 74 cm – Seat height 40 cm

A “Vienna” table designed by Peter Noever for Zanotta in the late 1970s, characterised by the combination of a large circular granite top and a central white-painted metal base. The design combines the solidity and material presence of stone with an essential structure, defined by clear proportions and a distinctive relief-decorated pedestal.

The perfectly circular top is made of grey granite, with its characteristic speckled texture clearly visible across the surface and along the thickness of the edge. It is supported by a single cylindrical central column terminating in a broad, slightly conical circular base. The surface of the pedestal is articulated by a series of radial ribs extending from the centre towards the perimeter, introducing a graphic and three-dimensional element into an otherwise extremely restrained structure.

The contrast between the substantial stone top and the white base gives the table a balanced presence, with the visual weight of the granite seemingly lightened by the central support. The radial pattern of the base becomes the principal identifying feature of the design and highlights Noever’s interest in the relationship between form, material and structure, resulting in a functional table with a strong architectural identity.

Condition: Excellent overall condition.

A rattan armchair from the 1950s characterised by a sinuous and highly sculptural structure, constructed through a succession of curved elements that continuously define the base, armrests and profile of the seat. The design makes full use of rattan as a structural material, exploiting its flexibility and ability to be bent in order to create a light, organic and visually dynamic form.

The supporting frame is composed of rattan canes of different diameters, bent and joined with traditional bindings, while the seat and backrest are made from thinner elements arranged lengthwise and woven into the structure. The large looped armrests continue in a flowing line towards the front of the chair, while the base develops through broad curves that visually lighten the overall composition and emphasise the handcrafted nature of its construction.

The strongly reclined profile, high backrest and low seat give the armchair a relaxed and enveloping character. The repetition of the canes and bindings also creates a distinctive graphic rhythm, particularly evident from the side and rear views, making the structure itself the principal decorative element. A representative example of the exploration of organic forms and natural materials that characterised part of 1950s furniture design.

Condition: Good overall condition, minor signs of use.

A three-stem floor lamp produced by Lamperti in the 1970s, characterised by a slender vertical composition and three light sources positioned at different heights. The entirely metal structure combines satin and chrome-plated finishes, with an essential design based on the repetition of circular and hemispherical elements.

The base is made from a single shaped metal element whose profile visually creates the impression of three partially overlapping discs. Three slender cylindrical stems rise from it, each terminating in an upward-facing hemispherical chrome-plated shade. The different heights of the stems articulate the composition and give the lamp a sense of movement without making the structure appear heavy.

The reflective finish of the shades contrasts with the more subdued surface of the base and reinforces the verticality of the lamp. When illuminated, the three hemispherical elements direct the light upwards, creating a diffuse glow while emphasising the graphic and geometric character of the design, typical of Italian lighting from the 1970s.

Condition: Good overall condition, some marks on the base and small areas of deterioration to the chrome plating on some shades. Fitted with 3 E27 bulbs.

Dimensions: Diameter 50 cm - Height 198.5 cm

A “Cidonio” table designed by Antonia Astori for Driade in the 1970s, characterised by a large circular transparent glass top supported by a cylindrical metal base. The design is based on an essential and rigorous geometry, in which the transparency of the top leaves the central structure fully visible.

The base consists of a central cylindrical volume set on a wide circular floor plate, both finished in the same metal surface. The undecorated glass top visually lightens the structure and creates a clear contrast between the transparency of the horizontal surface and the solid presence of the central support.

The circular shape of the top echoes that of the base, creating a particularly balanced composition built around the repetition of a few simple geometric elements. The restraint of the design and the combination of glass and metal give the table a strongly architectural character, consistent with Antonia Astori’s work for Driade during the 1970s.

Condition: Good overall condition, some marks on the base and glass.

A “Servomanto” coat stand designed by Achille Castiglioni for Zanotta in the 1980s, characterised by a vertical black-painted metal structure and a series of shaped arms arranged at different levels. The design reduces the coat stand to a few essential elements, transforming an everyday function into an immediately recognisable graphic presence.

A long cylindrical central stem rises from a flared base and supports the various coat hooks. These extend radially around the stem and terminate in broad open curves, formed by bending the metal tubing into soft, continuous shapes. Their staggered arrangement allows garments to be hung at different heights while creating a dynamic composition around the central axis.

The contrast between the rigidity of the vertical stem and the sinuous profile of the upper elements is the defining feature of the Servomanto. The uniform black finish emphasises the continuity of the structure and highlights the outline of the hooks, giving the object the essential and subtly playful character typical of many of Castiglioni’s designs.

Condition: Good overall condition, some signs of use and small areas of paint loss.

A desk designed by Vittorio Parigi and Nani Prina for Molteni in the 1970s, characterised by a chrome-plated tubular metal structure and a fitted top in moulded black plastic. The design brings together the writing surface, storage compartments and lighting within a single compact element, reflecting the functional approach to integrated furniture developed during the period.

The upper section is organised around a large glass writing surface set into the moulded plastic body and designed to be lifted, with a series of storage compartments incorporated directly into the structure. Along the rear edge, a sequence of circular openings provides additional space for small objects, while an adjustable lamp is integrated into the side of the desk through a slender metal stem and a small chrome-plated reflector. The contrast between the glossy black surface and the reflective metal elements reinforces the distinctly technical character of the design.

The base consists of two continuous chrome-plated tubular supports connected at the front by a crossbar that also functions as a footrest, with a ribbed black element covering its central section. The visually light metal structure contrasts with the more substantial upper body, creating a balance between the functional requirements of the workstation and a strongly recognisable formal language.

Condition: Good overall condition, some scratches on the glass and plastic structure.
