Japan issued a warning of heavy rain on southwestern island of Kyushu when at least 50 people died in flood areas and more than a dozen people were still missing.

Japan is in the rainy season, frequent floods and landslides cause local authorities to issue warnings and issue evacuation orders. The floods are considered the worst natural disaster in Japan since the Hagibis storm in October last year, killing about 90 people.
