FACE TO FACE TALKING - The most telling of all situations and where a lack of English may frustrate a customer and see them leave and go to one of your competitors. The ability to communicate directly and face to face will prove to be an immeasurable benefit when dealing with people from overseas or expats who have made Cambodia their home.

TELEPHONE DISCUSSIONS - This is by far the most difficult area to master. Accents, speaking too fast, lack of confidence are just some of the things that can make holding a telephone conversation so difficult. English for business will train students not only to speak English but how to do so to a level where they are understood when speaking on the telephone. There will be no more wrong orders due to misunderstanding and customers will always be happy and relaxed when calling you.

WRITTEN ENGLISH - Letters; Emails; SMS messages; Line Messages; Messenger; Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter, the list is almost endless. There are several apps available on the market to translate Khmer to English but it is far better to know what to write than using a third party translating system.

Over a period of time your employees will learn how to deal with all of these situations confidently thus giving you a real advantage in the marketplace.

Our Rates:

A guide of the teaching rates is shown below. This is JUST a guide and can be adapted dependent upon the number of sessions booked, payment terms, the time of the sessions and other factors. Please email [email protected] with full details and an exact price will then be quoted to you.

2-3 persons $18 per hour per person
4-5 persons $16 per hour per person
6-7 persons $14 per hour per person
8-10 persons $12 per hour per person
10+ persons $ - price upon application and full details.

Cancellation Charge: In the event that you cancel the lessons any time after the commencement of the first session a rate of 25% will be payable for those sessions booked but not used.

Payment Methods: Payment can be made directly to our nominated account or in cash. Cash payments must be made in U.S Dollars.

Attendance: There is no reduction in the price agreed should any person(s) not be able to attend one or more sessions after the commencement of the
course.

Changes to Schedule: Any change of dates or venue must be advised to English for Business at least 24 hours prior to the session. 25% of the fee will be charged for any changes to the schedule made giving less than 24 hours’ notice.

Students: All students will be expected to bring their own pen and paper or laptop computer/tablet for the purposes of taking notes. ALL mobile devices MUST be turned off for the duration of the sessions. A break after one hour will enable any student to check messages; make
calls and suchlike if necessary.

LEARN ENGLISH FOR BUSINESS IN PHNOM PENH

Hello to you all especially those of you wanting to learn English to assist you in business.

English is the universal language and being unable to communicate with English speakers can severely limit your business opportunities or promotion opportunities.

I offer the opportunity to develop your English skills regardless of your present English speaking levels. I am a businessman who has owned and operated my own companies in the United Kingdom and Asia for over thirty years. I therefore know what is required on a business level.

My pastime is writing and whilst living in Thailand had my first book, Riff Raffles, published. This was a humorous account of the difference in cultures I experienced in moving from England and opening a business in Thailand.

I lived in Thailand for over twelve years and moved to Cambodia late 2016 and am now settled here in Phnom Penh.

I am looking primarily for Cambodian, or other Asian companies here, who wish to see the English speaking ability of their personnel improved.

I have several teachers who work with me and will allocate one of them to your company should I believe it to be a good fit. We work with a minimum of two students per session although, ideally, six to ten persons per session is preferable.

Sessions can be arranged to suit the employer and be held in the mornings, afternoons or evenings, including weekends. Each teaching session is of two hours duration with a short break after one hour. All or part of the first session will be spent assessing the present grade or level of each students present English speaking ability.

There is no limit to the number of sessions that can be arranged although it is suggested that eight sessions over a one month period is best to start off with.

Rates for the teaching services vary and I terms are negotiated based on factors such as the number of students to be signed on by the employer; number of sessions booked and payment frequency. For example, a booking of at least eight sessions for ten students over a one month period and paid for in advance will receive a significant discount.

At the end of each month the employer will be provided with full feedback and a report detailing the progress of each student. Any specific requirements from the employer can be incorporated in to the programme.

Each course has a similar basis for teaching but is tailored to suit the type of business you are in and the overseas companies you will be dealing with.
