Proud to see Lebanese designers shaping conversations across Milan this week.
Different materials, different vocabularies, yet a shared sensitivity to texture, narrative, and space.
As carpet makers, we observe how objects live within interiors — and how culture translates into form. These works echo the same values we believe in: memory, identity, craftsmanship, and contemporary expression.
Featuring works by some of the Lebanese designers at MDW26:

A captivating Lectio Magistralis led by Alberto Boralevi on “THE ARRIVAL OF THE MAMLUKS: Mediterranean Carpets from East to West,” organized by the MITA Cultural Center and Fondazione Tassara. The presentation delved into the intricate and beautiful world of Mamluk carpets. Boralevi’s erudit knowledge and enthusiasm for Mamluk carpets truly brought these historical treasures to life!
In addition to the Mamluk carpets on display, I also had the chance to discover Para-Mamlouk and Cairene carpets from Egypt and Syria, along with carpets from Portugal, Spain, Morocco, and even the small but fascinating production of Italian carpets from Abruzzo.
Thank You

Last day of included a series of wonderful talks by experts from different disciplines each bringing his study to complete the ‘Sanguszko Carpet’ story and later the overall ‘Kerman Carpets from 1535 to 1750’ story in memory of Alessandro Bruschettini with the help of the municipality of Genoa.
I particularly loved ‘Some Iconographic Puzzles’ talk by Robert Hillenbrand who gave the Sanguszko Miho carpet different voices to speak at the same time not many things but not much!
I also enjoyed ‘A Riot of Colour’ talk by William Robinson who undertook the subject by how dyes are placed rather than by how chemically and scientifically are achieved.
Special thanks to the tireless Michael Frances, .rosso and to all who supported this event.
