FINAL FIGURES OF COLLECTED PERMANENT VOTER CARDS AHEAD OF OSUN GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION

Ahead of the Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for Saturday, 15th August 2026, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wishes to announce the final figures of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected by registered voters across the State.

Out of the total of 2,339,233 registered voters in the State, 1,906,390 PVCs, representing 81.50 per cent, have been collected. The remaining 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent, have been safely deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in line with the Commission’s established practice.

Similarly, it should be noted that some persons with damaged, defaced, or lost PVCs applied for replacement of their cards. A total of 6,101 among those who applied printed downloadable copies of their PVCs.

A table of of the PVCs collected, Polling Unit by Polling Unit (PU), has been published on the Commission’s website.

The Commission reassures political parties, civil society organisations, media, and the good people of Osun State of its total readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent, and inclusive election on Saturday, 15th August 2026.

RE: FALSE CLAIMS REGARDING RENEWED HOPE SIGNAGES ON INEC BUILDING.

Our attention has been drawn to a report circulating in the social media alleging that the picture of a building hosting the signpost and banner of the Renewed Hope Movement is INEC Rivers State’s office.
This is both false and misleading and the Commission categorically rejects these claims. For the avoidance of doubt, the said building does not belong to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Rivers State, neither does our office have such signages on any part of its premises.
It is clear that the generators of the false information confused the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), which shares a fence with the said building with our office.
The spread of false information is harmful to national unity and public trust. We therefore urge members of the public to verify claims through credible and official channels before sharing or publishing them.
As an umpire, INEC remains neutral and will continue to uphold its mandate as an independent body.

FCT Residents: Your PVC Is Ready for Collection

In line with preparations for the February 21 Area Council Election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) invites all eligible voters in the FCT to take advantage of the PVC collection exercise, which commences today.

Date: January 22–26, 2026
Time: 9:00am–3:00pm daily
Location: Registration Areas (Wards)

Thereafter, PVC collection will continue at INEC Area Council Offices.
INEC encourages eligible voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) early and participate fully in the electoral process.
