Today on , we encourage dads to let their children know they love them.
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
, never let a day go by without letting your children you love them.
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Here are two ways you can do this:
1. By loving their mum: When your children know you love their mum (your wife) it naturally rubs off on them. A direct way of doing This is to tell your wife, "Thank you for blessing me with this lovely child (or children, if you have more than one). When you do this, let your child (or children) be present. Let them hear it. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
2. Telling your children you love them intentionally - not as a recitation of three empty words but with conviction and commitment. Dad, your voice is powerful and when your children hear it everyday, it adds up within them and becomes a force that not only builds self worth (knowing you are loved builds self worth), but also keeps them from going to look for love in all the wrong places.
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Our choices shape our lives.
Our choices shape the lives of those we love and those who love us.
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
When it comes to fathering, the only way to hit the mark is to be intentional about it.
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
To be intentional is to be ; being deliberate about everything we do knowing it has a preplanned outcome.

WEEKLY BRIEFING FOR FATHER:
April Week #1: GOD'S GOOD HAND UPON FATHERS
"...and a letter to Asaph, the keeper of the king’s forest, so that he will give me timber to construct beams for the gates of the fortress which is by the temple, and for the city wall and for the house which I will occupy.” And the king granted me what I asked, for the good hand of my God was upon me.
NEHEMIAH 2:8 AMP

The scenario in the verse above is reminiscent of the life of every man, every father and Infact every person. A situation where we have goals and targets to meet but all is hinged on us getting permission from someone in higher authority. It could be submitting a proposal for a business deal; getting funding for project or bargaining an acquisition. The list can go on and on regarding the things that we need the permission of someone in higher authority in other to get it done.
Nehemiah was in such a position but this is what happened in his case: The king granted him all he asked because THE GOOD HAND OF HIS GOD WAS UPON HIM.
This made all the difference.
Today I encourage fathers to start each day knowing that the good hand of the Lord is upon them. All through the book of Nehemiah, one theme is evident: Nehemiah was a man given to prayer and seeking the face of God. Besides what Nehemiah was doing pleased God so it was inevitable that he would enjoy the good hand of God.
God will always help a man who does things that please him. Providing for your family pleases Him. Embarking on projects that wil enhance the lives of people pleases him. A selfless heart (as in the case of Nehemiah) pleases Him. Such people will enjoy the good hand of God.
Finally, when the good hand of God is upon a father, by extension, every one in his household benefits from it.
Every father will testify and agree with me that a life of favor is more desirable than a life of labour. The good hand of the Lord makes your life favorable. When obstacles of life come, you will always overcome. Better is the man who lives his life enjoying the good hand of God
PRAYER:
"Lord, let your good hand be upon me as it was with Nehemiah so that I may find favor in all I do to the glory of Your name. Amen."

Dads, make memorable deposits in the life of your children...and lots of it too! Do this especially when they are still young. It makes their lives richer!

Dear Dads,
I write to you because you are strong. I write to you because you are favoured. I write to you because you are the shapers of lives and destinies. I write to you because you matter…A LOT!
It doesn’t matter what state of life you find yourself at the moment – not that I disregard ‘that state’ in any way. However, what matters more is the truth about your core. That place within each of us that bear witness to our deepest longing – to be a great dad. Even if everything around you speaks and looks the contrary, never let that truth slip out of your grasp – that you are a great man. You may need a little (or in most cases, a lot of) help to become that great man but truth is, there is a king inside all of us. And his day of coronation is near!
As kings, we are heroes. But to be a hero, we have to face our giants; we have to fight our battles and we have to go into the ring and beat our fiercest foe – our self. That self that doesn’t want you to become all you can be! That self that wants you to settle for an average life, that self that wants you to abdicate your responsibilities; that self that doesn’t want the king in you to materialize. My brothers, we all know that self.
Another truth is that heroes are not born in the place of comfort. Far from it! Heroes are born in the face of huge adversities and challenges. Yet another truth is that the life of a man is filled with challenges. But this isn’t a bad thing. Rather, it’s a pointer to even yet another truth: that we have been given lives that should be lives from the standpoint of heroism. The challenges you are currently facing is the messenger reminding you of who you really are.
Today I call you to stand up again and face those challenges – all of them! If they came to challenge you, it’s because you have what it take to stand up to them and after the fight, stand above them all!
Finally, brothers, there is a lot at stake in this. Our children, our families (especially our sons) are counting on us to succeed. Why our sons? Our success tells them beyond any doubt that they too can make it. Our success is the evidence our sons need to know that when it is their turn to take the stage, they have all within them to succeed.
Dear Dads, I have written to you because you are strong. I have written to you because you are favoured. I have written to you because you are the shapers of lives and destinies. I have written to you because you matter…A LOT!

Much more than doing his duty as a Judge, Judge Lou Alovera went further to empathize with the man he was sentencing by doing something very unusual. To the man being sentenced - albeit for one night - it was an awesome gesture.
Fathers can learn a lot from this.
Thanks to CBS for sharing this.

If you want to be a good father, take time to learn HOW to be one. The earlier you start, the better. Given, there are some things you only learn on the job. But if you begin to expose yourself to what fathering entails early (especially the divine nature of it, and why it matters the most), you stand a better chance of succeeding at it. Selah
