How I started school furniture producing company without owning a single machine.
Production itself is a very lucrative business because it involves the combinations of men, machines, materials and mental faculty to birth a physical product. Depending on how valuable the product is,, the market demand, numbers of competitors in that niche and the expertise the product requires, the profit margin ranges from 20% and as high as 40% of the production cost.
Now school furniture production processes is divided into four stages
1) The welding stage
2) The Woodwork processing stage
3) The Spraying stage &
4) The Coupling stage.
Each of this stages required different machines to complete jobs in that stage. For the welding stage, you will need welding machine, cutting machines, grinding machines because you will be dealing with metals basically pipes either square or round pipe and in different sizes.
For the woodwork stage. You need a table machine for a start and later a very sophisticated machine call "panel saw". You can start by simply boting a cross cutting machine in a 4ft x 4ft board, turn it upside down to form a table machine.
As for the Spraying stage, you will need a Spraying machine, the types use by vulcanizes and you are good to go.
Now the coupling stage requires drilling machine, screw drivers and spanner to tighten the bot and nuts when putting the wood to metal.
Now, it will interest you to know that I started producing school furniture, delivering jobs that run into tens of millions of naira without owning any of the aforementioned machines. How now?.. Yes i used other people machines and gradually I started buying mine from the profit we made from the completed job. Just look around you, you see some road side workshop were welders are working and if look critically, there also a spray painter close by, better still just try and locate a panel be**er workshop where they repair car and you most likely to find a Weilder very near them.. these people can help you do you job if you give them the dimensions and the design.
The most easiest place to go to any market where the sell pipes, like in lagos, we have a place called Araromi bus stop. This is the headquarters of iron market in the Nigeria. You will get welders and spray painters easily.
For the woodwork, just go to any places that they are selling boards in bulk and can get either a table machine or a panel saw there, they will help you cut your boards into sizes and you pay them.
To startmarking profit from school furniture production, you need the KNOWLEDGE first. Even if you have the capital, keep it aside in a safe place and get the knowledge first or else . It is not a business you can jump into without the right knowledge.
I started with a carpenter who taught me the very basis while I market and got job for him. And because am very sharp and technically inclined, I could easily grab the whole concept. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me in the comments section. Do well to share also.

HOW WE ACQUIRE TWO GEN SETs WITHOUT BANK LOAN.
When dreams are fuelled with passion and faith, then be sure to see the hand of God move in a way that will whaoo you the dream carrier.
We start our journey of school furniture production back in 2008. With zero capital, zero equipment, zero experience but we zeroed into God promise which says "whatever thy hand finded to do, do it with all thy might."
First we need the knowledge of the business but as at that time there was no Formal place to learn it from, so we move inn to the informal sector which some of us will call "road side carpenter." Now if you can develop your selling skills, you can virtually learn anything for free. Yes that is what we did, I got a good cool headed carpenter Mr Omotunde Ojo with a small workshop, few tools and that was my starting point.we began to talk to people that we are now into school furniture business
From pictures alone, Mr Tunde can get you details dimensions of the furniture and do what we call bill of quantity, with these i will ascertain the cost and with little mark-up, I Will produce and delivered jobs to school. little by little, i gaind experience and indepth knowledge of the business.
Within a short time the business grew, I had to start my own from a very small space in my church premises. Then I needed a generating set. One of my Christian brother took me to a place where the gen in the first picture was to be sold. The total cost of the gen was about 120k, I deposited 20k with a signed agreement to pay the remain 100k in two weeks, failure to pay up will mean my deposit will be converted to rentage. 20k at that time was a very big money (2009) but I was willing to take the risk because I trust God for provision.
Gbam.. my phone rang one day the person on call said, are you so and so, I said yes, he said we should came with a sample of double bunk bed to their school ( Jextoban school in ketu lagos). We got there and set up the sample, they liked it and the contact of 50 units of double bunk was awarded to to us. It was profit we made from that contact that when into paying the balance for the generator. It was a huge risk we took as that time but God saw our faith and brought a job that paid for generator without stress
Now fast forward to 2025, we got the second generation from sale for these year also.. so the take home is this, if you have a dream to start any business, just find a way to start it anyhow, God will always show-up at the most critical moment when you need him most
Trust him and Will never fail you

WAEC CBT LAB... How the journey began
It was summer time as schools were preparing for resumption and as usual, we began both online and offline marketing. I just go some samples into our sennia 2005 model vehicle and just casually drove to Abbot Day Spring School Headquaters in Ayobo. On getting there God just arrange it that i meet the OGA kpatapa of the school, the one that can give me an order straight without any merigo-round. Ehennn, this is divine favour because ordinarily, you can't see this odogun just like that oo.
Now as an husler who has learnt the yoruba way of respecting people, i quickly dobale before him and he lifted me up, after exchanging minister to humble servanthood pleasantly, i quickly introduce the purpose why i can to see him and wanting to display our sample before him, he said no instead we both walk to the car and i open it. He saw everything at a glance and told me no problem, he will be needing so thing after resumption. Before he left me he give me two of his number that i can use to reach him even at odd hours.
Now, not too long i saw his number calling me, my heart skipp for few seconds and i quickly picked " Good afternoon sir, how are you sir and he requested that i see him immediatedly, i had to stop all that i was doing and rush to see him, he told me what he needed at the moment is a table for CBT Lab, I hadn't see any before but i know it should not be different from a library table. He didn't talk about chair oooo but only table but as an Igbo trainned business man, i did a sample of the table and design a simple chair that will go along.
Glory be to God, he gave us the job and the second branch at ogun state. We have made progress to build it for more that six schools and still counting, our goal to build it for 1000 schools by december 2026 and 10,000 schools by 2027. Before i forget, One of the school is in Benin republic Coutonu.
Lessions:
1) whatever you do, let God lead,
2) Be very creative
3) Alway think beyond the customers need
4) When entry and market with new product, think in terms of reference not profit at first...if you get, you got it
Bye for now..
