Same brick, different language.
Outside, it filters light and air.
Inside, it wraps the bar, shifting from climatic device to atmosphere.

this derelict compound came with three trees that had been growing for decades. we built the restaurant around them.
walls were removed to free the roots, the garden enlarged, and the building punctured in several places to pull light and greenery through the plan. the same ceramic tiles run from inside to outside — different patterns throughout, but continuous — so the threshold between the two is never quite where you expect it.
pink walls, amber brick, bamboo folded overhead. a palette rooted in this place.
in a city like lagos, this is the pause.
