If you come from a family where 5 people cannot raise 1.5M naira in one day…

Please avoid anything that can put you on an emergency theatre table.

Because in this country, emergency surgery is not just medical.
It is financial.

In places like Lagos and many parts of Nigeria, trauma doesn’t wait for bank alerts.

Road traffic accidents.
Stabbings.
Gunshot wounds.
Assault injuries.

They arrive at midnight.

And the first question families ask is not always about prognosis.

It is….
How much?

Emergency laparotomy.
Neurosurgery.
ICU admission.
Bl00d transfusion.

These are life-saving.
But they are expensive.

I have seen relatives make 50 phone calls in one hour.
I have seen mothers remove wrappers and earrings.
I have seen fathers break down quietly in corridors.

Court cases are costly.
But emergency surgery can empty generations.

The lesson is simple…

Live carefully.
Drive carefully.
Choose your fights carefully.
Avoid crime.
Avoid reckless lifestyles.

Because one bad decision can become…
A hospital emergency
A financial collapse

Prevention is cheaper than cure.
And it is far cheaper than emergency surgery.

Sometimes wisdom is not fear.

It is foresight.

This patrotic write up by Mr Fatoogun is worth sharing with my friends.

Yesterday, We Saw Nigeria Working As it should For Anthony Joshua

It took the French police ten minutes to get to the scene of Princess Diana's car crash, though it happened in metropolitan Paris. Please fact-check me.

But it took the Nigerian Police Force less than ten minutes to get to the scene of Anthony Joshua's car accident, though it occurred outside a metropolitan area. Again, please fact-check me.

It took French emergency response crews 101 minutes to get Princess Diana to the hospital, whereas Anthony Joshua was in a hospital within minutes. The total time was approximately thirty minutes.

Just as Anthony Joshua's friends sadly died on the spot, likewise did Dodi Fayed and the driver of the car, Henri Paul, die immediately from the impact of the accident.

The deaths, both in France and Nigeria, did not occur because of any negligence on the part of emergency first responders. They were a direct result of the collision from the accident.

Both crashes were caused by speeding far above the legal speed limit. Bad roads were not a factor at all in either crash.

The stretch of highway on which the Anthony Joshua crash occurred was very motorable and is a credit to Nigeria.

Go back and watch the video. This was a six-lane highway with three lanes on either side, well demarcated, free of potholes, and with lanes clearly delineated.

So, please tell me where Nigeria went wrong, or how we failed Mr Joshua in this sad episode that some unpatriotic citizens are trending things like 'Nigeria happened to Anthony Joshua'.

Did Spain happen to Diogo Jota?
Did Honduras happen to Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes of TLC?
Did America happen to Fast and Furious star, Paul Walker, when he died in a car crash in California?

I understand that, because of the intense negative slant of Nigeria's social media sphere, where it is easier to trend with bad news, a critical mass of our people has a confirmation bias toward negative stories.

However, please take your time to Go

If politicians inviting you to rallies did not insure you, get yourself an insurance cover, If you are alive and maimed, you are covered and if you died, your family will benefit.

🤔🤔🤔🤔

*LIFE IS PERSONAL.*

For good 3 months i have been away from home and work.

I came back and met my household healthy and doing fine as if my absence didn't affect them.

I walked straight to my room and saw how the kids turned everything upside down.

I discovered also that my personal perfume and other things were used.

The food stuffs in the kitchen were not in the kitchen cabinet.

Wow they were all busy enjoying while I was risking my life on the highway, sea, and air.

At midnight when they were all asleep, I sat down on my bed and had a deep thought about life and those around us.

I mean our loved ones whom we risk our lives for to put smiles on their faces.

Indeed like *"Na per head".* I wonder why people take their life.

My kids didn't even starve a day to protest my absence for 3months.

Haba, they didn't even wait for a year before using my personal items.

The kitchen was empty, and they were all looking healthy without me.

I can remember how I refused to shop, eat good food, join my colleagues to go for outing just because I wanted to return home with cool cash to make life comfortable for the kids.

Little did I know I was only punishing myself for people who were doing fine and will always be fine without my presence.

I thought of death, and had a clear picture of how things will look like without me.

It was at this point *I told myself that, life is all about you, and you alone.*

Those we call loved ones will definitely be fine when we are no more.

Have heard stories of women who didn't make it from the labour room, but their babies did, and today they are great men and women.

*Life indeed is personal.*

We kill for money to satisfy or impress those who don't really care if we live or not.

We betray, loot, get involved in illicit business to impress or satisfy those who won't keep our memory forever.

Take a deep breath friends, what if I didn't return back home?

Don't you think life would still have continued for / with my family?

Now I Know why the preacher keeps saying *all is vanity.*

Do your little, don't go extra mile contrary to the will of your Creator to impress or satisfy those whose destiny won't stop the day you kick the bucket.

Rather be yourself, do your little, and appreciate your effort even when the world don't commend your effort.

Your life, integrity, dignity, isn't worth sacrificing for anybody under the Earth.

Be conscious of your dealings, and put your conscience and Creator first when taking decisions.
May we all live to enjoy the fruits of our labour and not labour in vain.
** Food for thoughts ****
*Wishing all and yours success in all our endeavors in this year 2023 but while taking care of family and friends, consider yourself first because life has no duplicate.
