An short stroll in the evening, dealers unloading, peeking under blankets and in still closed boxes. What will tomorrow bring! Excited as always.

🪝✨ Why does this little hook sit underneath the spout of our traditional basin tap?
It’s not just decorative – it once served a practical purpose. This type of hook was a common feature on antique utility taps, allowing you to hang a little bucket underneath while it was being filled. No need to hold it, no splashing – just clever, simple functionality from a bygone era. Or was it used to hang a small vessel, to catch the residue water and prevent it to drip on the porcelain of a little basin? Or to hang a little brush or a soap onna rope?

Our classic reproduction tap is based on those original models, complete with working ceramic interior and available in various finishes – just like they used to be. Perfect for cloakrooms, pantries or guest bathrooms with a touch of historic charm. 💧

🎉 Amsterdam turns 750 years old today — and what better way to celebrate than with a nod to one of its quirkiest pieces of urban heritage: the Vespasienne, Amsterdam-style.

Yes, we’re talking about the Kleine Krul (Little Curl), Grote Krul (Large Curl), and Betonnen Krul (Concrete Curl) — those spiral-shaped public urinals you still spot around the city. Not everyone loves them, but they’re undeniably part of our street history.

Funnily enough, these “krullen” were even featured in a card game all school kids received exactly 50 years ago, when Amsterdam celebrated its 700th anniversary.

💫 Urban folklore in cast iron and concrete — long may they curl!

A glimpse into culinary history for Mother’s Day
These hand-colored engravings come from the 19th-century cookbooks of Urbain Dubois — chef to European royalty and a student of the legendary Carême. Known for his elaborate presentations and influence on modern dining service, Dubois helped shape how we experience food today.

A thoughtful gift for mothers who love cooking, art, or history – or all three.
