Claude Monet in his atelier at Giverny.

Surrounded by oversized Water Lilies, endless layers of paint and years of observation, Monet built an entire world around colour, light and atmosphere.

What inspires us most is not only the paintings themselves, but the dedication behind them. Returning to the same subject again and again, searching for nuance, texture and feeling in every detail.

A quiet reminder that true craftsmanship takes time.

Built on workwear, refined for everyday use.

In our Monet studio, Giel wears a chore jacket crafted from robust duck canvas - a fabric originally developed for hardwearing garments, valued for its strength, dense weave and lasting character. The word “duck” comes from the Dutch word doek, historically used for durable textiles such as sails and traditional workwear.

What makes this piece special is the balance between utility and refinement. The sturdy cotton canvas gives the jacket structure and depth, while the relaxed silhouette keeps it easy and natural to wear. Over time, the fabric will slowly develop its own patina, shaped by movement, light and daily use.

Layered over the striped rugby knit and relaxed tailoring, the combination feels both grounded and sophisticated. Strong materials softened through colour, proportion and texture.

Clothing built to age beautifully.
Quality over quantity.

Available in-store at Neighbourhood,
Rijnstraat 14B Arnhem.

Claude Monet in his studio, surrounded by the Water Lilies that would later become some of the most influential paintings of the 20th century.

Painted in Giverny during the later years of his life, these monumental works became a study of light, reflection and time itself.

A reminder that true craftsmanship is built slowly. Layer by layer.

Relaxed tailoring with a military foundation.

In our Monet studio, Niek wears a Drake’s set where tailoring, workwear and military influences quietly come together. A silhouette that feels classic in origin, yet relaxed and effortless in movement.

The Mk. I Games Blazer reinterprets traditional tailoring through a softer lens. With its natural shoulder line, slightly shorter length and fuller cut, the jacket drapes comfortably rather than formally. Unlined construction keeps the piece light and easy to wear, while patch pockets and exposed seams subtly reference the world of artists, makers and vintage workwear.

The matching trousers continue this balance. A higher rise, fuller leg and gentle taper create a silhouette reminiscent of mid-century relaxed tailoring. The single pleat adds comfort and movement while maintaining a calm, structured line.

Both pieces are crafted from a Japanese herringbone twill inspired by American military fabrics from the 1940s. The texture gives the set depth and character, while the cotton remains substantial without feeling heavy.

What makes this combination work is the balance between refinement and function. Tailoring that doesn’t feel formal, but natural. Designed to be worn effortlessly, either separately or together as a relaxed two-piece silhouette.

A modern interpretation of classic clothing, built on history, craftsmanship and everyday wear.

A quiet corner inside the house of Claude Monet in Giverny.

Surrounded by soft light, floral fabrics and walls filled with paintings, you begin to understand how deeply Monet lived inside his own world of colour and observation. Every room feels connected to the garden outside, where light constantly shifts throughout the day.

What stayed with us most was the atmosphere. Nothing felt staged. The house feels personal, layered and alive - filled with objects, textures and tones that quietly inspired our Spring Summer collections.

A reminder that inspiration often lives in the details.
In the light through a window, the fading colours of a painting, or the calm feeling of a room that has barely changed over time.

A modern interpretation of vintage sportswear.

In our Monet studio, we see a piece rooted in classic collegiate athletic wear, translated into a more refined and relaxed silhouette for everyday use. The wide stripes and raglan sleeve construction give the sweatshirt a strong graphic character, while the soft cotton quality keeps the look effortless and easy to wear.

Details like the traditional “V” insert at the neckline and the ribbed cuffs subtly reference archival training garments from the past, bringing depth and authenticity without feeling overly nostalgic.

Crafted from 100% cotton and made in Portugal, the fabric feels substantial yet comfortable, designed to age beautifully over time. A piece that moves naturally between casual dressing and more considered combinations.

Styled with relaxed tailoring and understated accessories, creating a balance between sport, structure and sophistication.

Available in-store at Neighbourhood,
Rijnstraat 14B Arnhem.

Claude Monet in his studio, Giverny.

Surrounded by years of observation, light and colour.

This image was taken inside Monet’s studio in Giverny, where many of his monumental works were stored and viewed together. Seeing the paintings gathered like this reveals something special - not just individual works, but an entire world built around atmosphere, reflection and quiet detail.

You begin to understand how deeply Monet lived within his own colours.
