⭐ 2025 a roaring success with innovation and collaboration taking centre stage ⭐

The maritime community came together at Europort 2025 to focus minds on the ideas, innovation, and international collaboration needed by an industry that is simultaneously challenged by accelerating energy transition and digitalisation, financial uncertainty and the test of attracting next generation talent.

The successful 42nd edition of Europort concluded following four intense days of conferences, networking, award ceremonies and high-powered panel discussions that assessed how global forces are reshaping the industry and creating new opportunities.

Welcoming over 23,000 visitors from 87 countries, the sold-out exhibition featured 1,100 exhibitors and 13 national pavilions.

🌊 Inspiring the Next Generation at Young Europort 2025!

Today’s programme was all about connecting fresh talent with the future of the maritime industry — and what a day it’s been! From early networking to hands-on innovation, the event brought students, young professionals, educators and industry leaders together to share ideas, spark collaborations, and shape tomorrow’s maritime world.

Highlights from the day included:

💰 A Ship Finance Debate – lively discussions on ship finance and the changing investment landscape.
🤝Innovation Connection Meeting on the Green Stage – creative energy from students and researchers showcasing AR/VR/AI and sustainable shipping concepts.
⚓Networking Lunch – hosted by the City of Rotterdam, connecting talent and employers over great conversations.
🚢Guided Student Tours – hands-on look at innovations in wind-assisted shipping, circular shipbuilding, and energy transition.

💡 The focus throughout the day = building bridges between education and industry, and empowering the next generation to lead maritime innovation.

The CAREER4SEA Europort Awards recognise organisations and individuals in the maritime industry that are excelling in areas such as crew welfare, diversity, training and education. Following the awards ceremony, there was a vibrant panel discussion where the winners shared their views on how the shipping industry can attract and retain the next generation of and shore-based professionals.

This morning the Young NMT-IRO and Younship hosted the networking breakfast - a fantastic way to kick-start a day of exploring what the maritime industry has to offer!

The event brought together students and young professionals from various maritime-related studies and background, where they took part in business speed dating to build their networks, pitched ideas and were able to make requests for internships and projects on the 'brick wall'.
