Solid ash room divider for the new office and showroom of . They suggested to splay the vertical slats which resulted in a playful design, adding a large radius roundover gives the slats a soft feel. The ash has been treated with two layers of hardwax oil to provide a durable finish and warm tone.
Running a business is no joke. Six days a week in the workshop and doing design and quotations in the evenings. I try not to work on Sundays but I usually end up doing a couple hours of paperwork anyway. Wouldn't trade it for anything though, doing everything myself and the way I think it should be done is what works for me.

Van ruw hout tot eindproduct. Voor de nieuwe showroom van mocht ik een walnoot bureaublad maken. Het hele blad is uit één stuk walnoot gemaakt waardoor de houtnerf gespiegeld is en het blad een evenwichtig karakter heeft. Het filmpje duurt 45 seconden, in werkelijkheid heb ik bijna 10 uur aan dit bureaublad besteed.

Studiomeubels deel 3 - het bureau. Precies groot genoeg voor de apparatuur die er op moet passen en tegelijkertijd zo klein mogelijk om de akoestische impact te minimaliseren. Al het kersenhout voor deze set studiomeubels komt uit één stam zodat de kleur perfect overeenkomt en de drie meubels een warme uitstraling hebben. Studiomeubels deel 2 - het rack. Met plaats voor 10HE op het eerste gezicht een eenvoudig meubel. Toch kan een 19" rack ook bijzonder zijn; zorgvuldige houtselectie, nauwkeurige verstekken, zwart geanodiseerde rackrails en verzonken vloerglijders maken dit rack tijdloos in uitstraling en makkelijk in gebruik.

Studiomeubels deel 1 - keys. Een op maat gemaakte behuizing van massief kersen en esdoorn voor een Doepfer LMK4+ klavier. Een project dat uitdagend was om te ontwerpen en bouwen door alle hoeken en schuine vlakken. Volgende week zien jullie deel 2 en 3!
