2,923 parts. 52 suppliers. Two years. We're proud of that number, and even more proud of what sits behind it.

That effort has extended EU Ecolabel coverage for HÅG to 47 chair models across 10 families.

In 2024, HÅG received the first EU Ecolabel ever awarded to a task chair. Today, at Flokk, we have 9 task chair families totally certified within the HÅG brand alone.

EU Ecolabel is a Type I label: independently verified, not self-declared. Every certified chair was mapped down to its smallest component and checked against the label's criteria.

The long hours behind this project was carried out by a small but dedicated team: Edward Buzura, Product Environmental Certification Lead, Kenneth Dam Lindegaard Knudsen, Senior Product Environmental Engineer, and external chemical expert Selma Louise Vinterset.

"No component was too small to ignore," says Edward. "Kenneth built the bills of materials, and colleagues across NPD, TPM, Procurement and Røros kept answering when I asked. I'm really proud of what we put together."

Balloon, a new fabric by Plesner Patterns, seen for the first time at Skøyen Designfestival. 😍

The pattern started with a single balloon pressed into paint, then digitised onto fabric. Shown here on the HÅG Capisco, and on OFFECCT Font meeting room chair in a second colourway, both from Plesner Patterns collection.

Great to share it with so many visitors in Oslo over the weekend. 🤗

Giroflex's story starts in 1872, with two factories on either side of the Swiss-German border, making bentwood chairs for cafés and hotels.

In 1937, the business split between two branches of the same family. The Koblenz factory passed to 26-year-old Albert Stoll III, who spent the decades that followed building it into one of Europe's leading office chair makers.

150 years on, Giroflex is still built on the same idea: a chair should move in sync with the person sitting in it.

This is the third in a series telling the story of each brand in the Flokk family.

Kiki Plesner is launching a new fabric at Skøyen Designfestival, 4–5 September, and it's coming to the Flokk showroom. 🤩

Meet Balloon, a pattern born from a simple, analogue process, balloons pressed into paint and lifted onto fabric. 🎈

Balloon will be present alongside several other Plesner Patterns designs, a number of which will be displayed on Flokk seating, including the iconic HÅG Capisco and the recently released OFFECCT Font.

Kiki will be hosting a talk in the showroom on Friday at 1pm on creating fabric patterns inspired by everyday moments and the nature around us, open to anyone at the festival.

We're pleased to announce that ergoCentric has joined the Flokk family.

Based in Mississauga, Ontario, the company has spent over three decades specialising in ergonomic task seating, and brings a dedicated manufacturing facility and a team of around 220 people who know their category inside out.

Flokk CEO Henning Karlsrud: "By adding ergoCentric to the Flokk group, we significantly strengthen our footprint in Canada and enhance our position in the growing ergonomic task seating segment. With ergoCentric's strong market position and distribution, we gain scale in Canada and capabilities that complement our existing brands in North America."

It's our second acquisition in Canada this year, building on the platform we've established with Spec Furniture, and takes group annual sales to approximately USD 600 million.

ergoCentric's founder Terry Cassaday and his team stay on, continuing to run the business they built. What changes is the backing behind them.

Flokk's HQ in Oslo is taking part in Skøyen Designfestival, 4–5 September.

On show: an advance preview of Profim Lunea ahead of next month's launch, Connection Furniture's arrival in Norway with Kuppel and Oko, and the recently launched OFFECCT Font meeting chair.

The programme includes several talks and workshops, including Tor Opsvik of Peter Opsvik as presenting the design philosophy behind his father Peter Opsvik's chairs, and Jotun presenting their new colours with a workshop and colour advice at their stand across both days (and on all our walls!).
