Apologies if I am slow replying to calls and emails over next few days...
always the hardest thing saying goodbye...
no longer have this little warrior in our midst and there as my office buddy every day x
Samson had mouth surgery/dental work last week and also a biopsy taken after a massive growth was found in the roof of his mouth, with the cancer diagnosis received yesterday afternoon and him being so 'down' and in pain/struggling since that operation... we had to make that awful decision to let him go.
Our vets came out and he passed here at home around midday yesterday, surrounded by love, knowing he will forever be loved and missed by us all # # #
Thanks for the years of love and friendship little man.
For those of you who knew him, thanks for being his friend and loving him as much as we did over the years # # #
So surreal here at present - I bet Harry was there to greet him with a swot... and then a hug!
My office is so empty with both my 'work colleagues' & 'office buddies' gone both within months of each other # # #

Apologies if you called today and I didn't answer the phone - please call again and leave a message and I shall return your call tomorrow... devastating and sad news today had me unable to be there for you... my baby boy, our 'staff' and little 'Ginger Ninja' Harry found out that the road was not a great place for cats - our thanks to the person that took his body to the local vets where they could phone us and we could pick him up for cuddles before taking him to our usual vets for cremation ... give those fur babies an extra cuddle from us, hold them dear, whisper in their ears to stay safe... it's always so hard as they are their own bosses and no matter how hard we tried nor what we did we couldn't avoid this happening for our dear wee man # # #
He was always such a character of a cat... remembering him like this...
Thanks for your understanding x

Restores our faith in the next generation looking after the Earth and creatures on it!!! What a couple of LEGENDS!!!
We'd like to say a huge thank you to Daniel and David, who have been very busy over the school holidays! ❤️ They've made lots of dog and cat toys, towers and condos for mice, a couple of fleece forests, and even spent time cutting up rags for us. We really appreciate all of their hard work!
Be sure to check out our SPCA Kids page for ideas and instructions on how to make enrichment toys: https://kids.spcaeducation.org.nz/get-involved/things-to-make-or-do/
Thank you, on behalf of the animals! 🙌

Something you never want to have to use - but to to know it could save pets lives....
Today is , a reminder that knowing how to save a life—especially our furry friends—can make all the difference. While having to administer CPR to your pet can be terrifying, being prepared can help you act calmly and confidently in an emergency.
Stay Calm:
1️⃣ Breathe: Take a few deep breaths to steady yourself. Focus on the feeling of the air filling your lungs.
2️⃣ Delegate: If there are bystanders, assign them tasks like finding the nearest emergency vet.
3️⃣ Focus: Keep your mind clear. Concentrate on the steps ahead and stay in the moment.
When to Start CPR:
🐾 Your pet isn’t responding
🐾 Your pet isn’t breathing
🐾 You can’t feel a heartbeat or pulse
How to Perform CPR:
Compressions:
❤️ Position your pet on their side.
❤️ Deliver 120 compressions per minute (2 per second).
❤️ For every 30 compressions, give 2 breaths.
Breaths:
❤️ Close your pet’s mouth and seal it with your fingers.
❤️ Cover their nose and give 2 breaths—enough to make their chest rise.
❤️ Check for a heartbeat after 2 minutes. If there’s no pulse, continue.
When to Stop CPR:
🐾 Your pet starts breathing and responding
🐾 You reach the vet clinic and they take over
🐾 You can’t continue physically
🐾 Your pet starts breathing but is still unconscious
Recovery Position:
Place your pet’s head to the side, slightly tilting down (unless there’s head trauma).
Compression Techniques:
🐶 Medium to Large Dogs: Compress one third of the chest depth.
🐱 Small Dogs/Cats: Use your thumb and fingers for compression, or compress directly over the heart.
Stay prepared and know that you can make a difference in your pet's life! ❤️

If only I had a dollar for every picture I've drawn on every parcel sent out over the last 36 years!!!... so glad it brings a smile to people and their pets (plus a giggle for the couriers along the travels)
Thank you Pet Doors R Us Limited / Back Door Cat Door Man Limited for a fast and efficient service when we ordered a new dog door this week.
The best part was receiving the replacement door with a cute picture drawn on the packet …. How did you know it would look exactly like the dog door breaking culprit!?!? 🐾

Had to share (Thanks Susan for emailing this through for us) … check out the face!!!

He's not a happy boy!

Oh... it just makes our day when clients send messages like this through - with an AWESOME pic of our 4 legged friend clients Ruby & Poppy too!!!...
Hi Alie,
The new dog door catch arrived today.
Alie, your customer service is outstanding 😃
From despair when we noticed the pups had broken our dog door catch to absolute delight in that you could supply a replacement part.
Once I had made contact with you via your website your service and absolute commitment in helping us has been a delight.
Customer service like you have provided, sadly is a bit hard to come by today, but not Petdoorsrus .. simply excellent service.
We will have no hesitation in recommending your company to anyone.
Our pups, Ruby and Poppy say a big big thanks 😃😃
Cheers,
Ian
