Not just wood. Time itself, preserved for up to 50,000 years beneath New Zealand’s peat swamps.

THE DESK DEFINES THE ROOM.

A home office is more than a place to work.

It is where ideas begin, decisions are made, businesses are built, and quiet hours of focus become something meaningful.

At the centre of that space is the desk.

The right desk creates presence.
It gives the room proportion, purpose and character.

An Ancient Kauri desk brings something even deeper.

Preserved beneath the earth of New Zealand for tens of thousands of years, every slab carries its own grain, natural form and record of time.

Placed in a contemporary home office, it becomes a meeting point between ancient material and modern life — between concentration, creativity and craftsmanship.

Not simply a work surface.

A place to think.
A place to create.
A place to build what comes next.

ONE TABLE. TWO CULTURES. 50,000 YEARS OF TIME.

A table is never just a piece of furniture.

In Chinese culture, a round table gathers the family around a shared centre. A long table introduces direction, order and respect for place. A writing desk creates a private space for learning, reflection and the Four Treasures of the Study.

In Western homes, the long table has evolved from the traditional refectory table into the everyday heart of family life—a place for dining, working, reading, celebrating and welcoming friends.

The same forms take on new meanings in business spaces.

A round conference table encourages equality and open discussion. A long boardroom table establishes direction and responsibility. A sculptural root table transforms a reception area into a place where conversation begins.

Architecture shapes how a table is experienced—but the table shapes how people relate to one another.

Created from Ancient Kauri preserved beneath the earth for tens of thousands of years, each table carries its own natural form, grain and record of time. It connects East and West, past and present, people and place.

DEEP TIME MEETS THE FUTURE

Four primordial forms. One material shaped by deep time.

The Cube — Order
The Sphere — Continuity
The Omega Disc — Cycles
The Pyramid — Ascent

Created from Ancient Kauri—wood preserved beneath the earth for approximately 50,000 years—these four monumental works bring the memory of a prehistoric forest into the age of artificial intelligence and robotics.

Their precise geometric forms express humanity’s desire to understand, order and shape the world. Yet the natural root cavities remain—irregular, complex and impossible to reproduce—reminding us that nature was the first creator.

Around them stand robots, algorithms and intelligent machines: the newest objects of human imagination.

One material carries the memory of the past.
One exhibition looks toward the future.
Between them stands the present—and all of us.

FROM AOTEAROA TO AITUTAKI
Ancient Kauri Across the South Pacific

A new luxury resort is taking shape on Aitutaki, one of the Cook Islands’ most beautiful and romantic destinations.

For this South Pacific setting, Ancient Kauri is envisioned not simply as furniture, but as a design language flowing through the entire guest experience.

The journey begins with two monumental Ancient Kauri entrance slabs, forming a 2.4-metre-wide gateway into the resort.

Inside the lobby, a six-metre reception counter with a 1.1-metre-wide Ancient Kauri top creates the first impression, accompanied by a sculptural wall installation and a solid Kauri coffee table for welcoming and conversation.

In the restaurant, a 4–6 metre communal table becomes the heart of the space, surrounded by smaller square and round Ancient Kauri tables overlooking the lagoon.

The story continues into the private suites through more intimate details: handcrafted Kauri Photo Blocks, small wall pieces and a bedside radio made with an Ancient Kauri casing.

From monumental architecture to the smallest personal object, every piece carries the grain, colour and natural identity of timber preserved beneath New Zealand for tens of thousands of years.

From Aotearoa to Aitutaki, Ancient Kauri brings deep time into a new South Pacific destination.
