and expansion saw them occupy all four shops in the block and the warehouse underneath. Eventually, even this wasn’t enough to meet this ever growing business! In 2000, Giles Carpets Ltd relocated to a much larger and newer showroom in Stoddard Road, Mt Roskill for a 10 year period. In 2010 we decided it was about time to buy our own building, and we moved to 52 Carr Road, Mt Roskill, where we still are today. It’s smaller but warmer and more user friendly with plenty of parking at the front. THE GILES CARPETS TEAM

Giles Carpets is very much a family business. About twenty years ago one of Kevin’s younger brothers, Philip, was employed as a Salesman. Then fifteen years ago, another brother, Allen, started working for us as Shop Manager, greeting and assisting all our wonderful walk in customers, and making the very hard task of coordinating all the jobs and layers look easy! Allen is the first person you usually meet when you come into our shop, along with Angela Giles (Kevin’s daughter). After a successful career working in Retail Management for 13 years, Ange joined the company almost four years ago and is a large part of the sales team, learning the ropes on how to measure and quote from Kevin. Ange is also responsible for all our content on our website, as well as any of Giles Carpets’ advertising, marketing and design. Philip unfortunately decided he needed a change after so long in the business, and moved to Perth three years ago. Re-enter Ian Carstens, who after a 23 year absence decided to re-join the team. Ian previously worked for Kevin at Giles Carpets 23 years ago for 4 and a half years, and was at the time, the longest standing salesperson! His long-standing record was soon replaced by Roger who has now been with Giles Carpets for over 23 years! Also with a huge wealth of knowledge and experience, Roger can handle it all! Friendly, easy to talk to and more than happy to help anyone, Roger really is a gem. Then, we have our accounts people - without which, Giles Carpets would probably fall apart! Dianne is our very multi-talented Office Manager, and is most often the person behind the emails that you talk to, handling all invoicing and any accounts with our suppliers. Roly is our accountant, and can normally be found working hard in the shop on Thursdays once a fortnight, Roly has also been with Giles Carpets for a very long time. LAYERS
We have a fantastic team of approximately twelve Carpet and Vinyl Layers, with two of our main carpet layers, Stu and Jerry, having been with us for over 37 years. The teams all work in pairs, and work very fast and efficiently together to produce the best looking laid carpets and vinyl's in Auckland!!
