This is where the whole job gets decided — long before tiling, gib, or fixtures go in. Every valve set to height, every outlet centred off the setout, hot and cold exactly where the tapware needs it.

This old cylinder was failing and the safe tray drain had never been connected — sending overflow straight under the house instead of to the waste line. We replaced the cylinder, valves and reconfigured the pipework, correctly plumbed the tray, and got the whole install fitted into a seriously tight understairs cavity.

Small space, no shortcuts.

We were called out to investigate ceiling moisture issues with no obvious cause. After a bit of fault-finding, we traced it back to strong nor’easterly winds driving water up under the roof sheets.

Out with the old Rheem low pressure cylinder, in with a new mains pressure vitreous enamel unit — full new valve set, tempering, and pipework done right.

What this means for the homeowner: proper pressure at every tap, showers and taps running at the same time without one dropping off, and no more waiting on the tank to catch up.

We stripped this Remuera home back and re-did the lot — full house repipe, new water heaters, three bathrooms, kitchen and laundry. Brushed tapware, freestanding baths, wall-mounted everything, and nothing on show that shouldn’t be.

A quick flashing job ticked off

Custom soaker flashing supplied and delivered by the boys .nz installed over an existing asbestos vent pipe to tidy things up and keep everything watertight with a new decktite. While we were there we also shortened the old low pressure HWC vent that had been held up with wire stays, then installed and tested a new pressure reducing & relief valves.
