Meetings aren’t always the problem. Meeting friction is.

Finding a room, dealing with background noise, getting interrupted or finishing without a clear decision can all make everyday meetings harder than they need to be.

And in an open-plan office, a quick catch-up at one desk can disrupt everyone working nearby.

So instead of asking “Do we have too many meetings?”

Ask:

“Do we have the right spaces for them?”

Our latest Hushmondays article looks at simple ways to reduce meeting friction and make collaboration easier.

We're proud to have worked on this project alongside Jasmax and the wider project team, contributing to the interior commercial furniture fitout for the new Radiation Oncology Service at Whangārei Hospital.

The project has been recognised with a Highly Commended award in the Collaboration Over $20 Million Projects category at the 2026 Building People Awards.

It’s great to see a project with such an important purpose recognised, particularly one that brings radiation treatment closer to home for people across Northland.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this one to life. A great example of what can be achieved through strong collaboration!

Most people think wayfinding is all about signage.

In reality, your furniture is quietly influencing where people walk, where they pause, and where they naturally gather.

The shape of a table, the angle of a seating arrangement, even whether furniture features sharp lines or soft curves can subconsciously guide movement through a space. These subtle design cues help create workplaces that feel intuitive to navigate without people even realising why.

In our latest article, we explore the psychology behind workplace wayfinding and how thoughtful furniture design can improve flow, reduce cognitive load, and create environments that simply make sense to the people using them.

From collaborative zones to waiting areas and open-plan offices, it's fascinating how the smallest design decisions can have the biggest impact.

Mondays don’t just feel harder. Research suggests they’re often our most stressful workday.

A 2020 study by Shani Pindek and colleagues found that employees reported higher job stress and lower job satisfaction on Mondays than on any other day of the workweek.

Whether your weekend was packed with activities or spent relaxing at home, Monday asks your brain to switch gears quickly.

The challenge isn’t necessarily that people can’t work on Monday.

It’s that many begin the week already feeling more stressed than they need to.

That early-week pressure can shape the rest of the week, making Friday burnout feel almost inevitable.

That’s the idea behind .

We’re encouraging workplaces to rethink how the week begins. Instead of expecting employees to battle through distractions, constant interruptions, and meeting overload, give them the space to reset, focus, and build momentum.

A quiet hour on Monday morning can be more valuable than another status meeting.

Get ahead on Monday. Take it easy on Friday.
