Knots Of Colour

Completed shelving unit project. Macrocarpa complimented by paua to add a pip of colour. Thick slabs of aged timber and pipe framework to keep with the rustic theme.

Well one more coat of polyurethane to do on the bottom shelf and trunk. Then to add the trunk below bottom shelf+install a top shelf. So id say 2/3 of the way through.

Everything screwed and glued into place now. Just bottom tunk to sort below bottom shelf then I can look at finding a piece of timber for the third/very top shelf.

Well. We're getting there.

Last epoxy coat of clear on the deer antler piece. Cut rustic live edge macrocarpa shelving to size for this rustic shelving unit and coated with clear epoxy

Good small project on his rainy day with thicknesser,routering sanding and pouring the first finishing coat minus the c**k up with thicknesser, shell was too close to the top on one side. Bullocks. Ohwell nothing I can do but carry on. Thats why we have to keep practicing and trialing new things. Sometimes things don't work straight away but hey thats part or learning right.

Super glue to set those little suckers down in place so I can pour without them shifting.

Well that's time I'll never get back 😂. Ohwell got to do what you have to do to decrease chances of airpockets and bubbles. Wait for this all to set/dry then pour epoxy on weekend when temps are a bit warmer/when I have full days...unlike after work when it's cold.
