TL Parker and Motorola, in partnership with New Zealand Red Cross, have custom-designed an Extended Range Direct-Mode Repeater system to be the next generation digital replacement for analogue repeater units throughout the South Pacific Region. This customized option allows the unit to be set up at Disaster Management Hub (DMH) locations without any reprogramming of simplex VHF radios. This will save Red Cross valuable down time during emergencies by eliminating the need for programming delays. The SLR1000 can also be IP linked to give Red Cross as much coverage as required during operations. The custom pelican case consists of the SLR1000 Extended Range Direct-Mode Repeater, repeater battery, 3.5-metre RolaTube antenna, switch kit and connectors. It is designed to be easily transported, plugged in power, and ready to go.
