Off the back of our success at Beervana last year. We foolishly thought that putting a teddy bear on a can of beer was a bit of harmless fun. A silly little play on words, combined with images of once-loved but now abandoned fluffy friends...
Thankfully, weāve had our eyes opened by a single virtuous member of the public and the Advertising Standards Authority. We now understand that putting a bear on a can of beer was directly encouraging the youth of Aotearoa to drink alcohol. And for that, we are so so so so so so very sorry.
We still, however, have a small amount of stock of these despicable cans left. And as a form of repentance (if you're of legal drinking age), you can head into either of our taprooms and grab a can or two at a large discount, just don't let your kids see them...

ā¹ļø FRESH HOP REPENTANCE ā¹ļø
Our fresh hop is FINALLY here, and it comes with an overdue apology...
You may have noticed that, unlike the last two years, this fresh hop beer has no reference to PORK. And weāve all got to thank for that. We had absolutely no idea that employing Aotearoa's most notorious vandal could, in any way shape or form, be supporting crime. We had been shamefully hoodwinked by evil itself! has shown us the error of our ways! And we will be eternally grateful for that.
Because weāre so so deeply ashamed of our actions and so so so sorry for all the harm we have caused, this years Fresh Hop is a form of repentance. The cleansing properties of an Xtra Pale Ale paired with Freestyle Hopsā finest Riwaka, will exorcise any evil spirits, purify the soul and help us all avoid eternal damnation! And if this beer isnāt enough to satiate your desire for public self-flagellation, weāve even fired our General Manager who endorsed the corruptive idea of collaborating with the lawless wrongdoer PORKSTA in the first placeā¦
All it took was one brave soul speaking out to show us our sinful ways. Thank you so very much , youāre the reason this beer exists. In ās name.

š„¬ THAT TIME OF YEAR š„¬
If you follow the Abandoned Brewery's socials, it's probably fair to assume you follow a bunch of craft breweries. That means you'll be being absolutely bombarded right now with fresh hop content. Obviously we've brewed another fresh hop this year, and obviously it'll be Aotearoa's favourite, but we won't w**k on about that...
How about a fun fact instead!?!? Did you know hops and w**d share appoximately 73% of their genetic material, that means they're cousins apparently. FUN STUFF!!!
Anyway, Fresh Hop 2026 coming SOON! Keep your eyes peeled for when it starts pouring, it won't last long...
