Great to catch up with Hayden Burke from Lucy’s during a recent visit to his Auckland premises. We are looking forward to working alongside Hayden and other party and events members on important initiatives, including APEX Training and Building Consent working groups, to help support and strengthen the sector.

A great visit with Ryan Hosking from new HIANZ member Adaptalift Group New Zealand. It is always exciting to welcome new members to the association, and we look forward to working with Ryan and the Adaptalift team as they become part of the HIANZ community.

Celebrating our 2025/26 Young Professionals Development Program cohort at HIRECON26.

It was fantastic to bring our Young Professionals, mentors, new members and HIANZ Board together in person for a networking session at the start of the conference. A special thank you to Thalia Evans, winner of last years Young Professionals Program and her mentor Paul Creighton for sharing their experiences and insights on networking and making the most of industry connections.

At the Hire Excellence Awards at HIRECON26, we celebrated the graduation of our 2025/26 Young Professionals Development Program cohort.

Congratulations to our eight mentees who successfully completed this year's program: Zac Blackley (Marquee Hire Whangarei), Nate Tuia (Kennards Hire), Brent Criglington (Silk Estate Marquee Events & Weddings), Aaron Marshall (Hire Works), Daniel Ross (Waihi Hire), Gurdeep Singh (Kennards Hire), Jessica Cramb (United Rentals), and Vincent Courtney (United Rentals).

Aaron demonstrated that leadership is not always about being the loudest voice in the room. Thoughtful, engaged, and committed to learning, he embraced every opportunity to grow, build connections, and share insights with others. His development throughout the program was remarkable, making him a very deserving recipient of this award.
