Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads…

To the dads who let their wives buy whatever furniture they want — even when they’re quietly wondering where on earth it’s going to fit.

To the dads who fold the washing, have dinner ready when we arrive home late, wrangle the children, walk the dog, shift the sofa… then shift it back again because it looked better the first way.

To the dads who nod thoughtfully at fabric samples, pretend to understand the difference between olive, moss and sage, and know that “I’m just popping into Timber + Thread” is never going to be a five-minute outing.

We see you, we appreciate you… and we promise we’re almost finished rearranging the lounge.

When we go sourcing chairs and sofas, we take the job very seriously…

It’s a tough game, but someone’s gotta play it. We take turns testing each piece, ensuring there’s always one of us awake to ask the important questions. 😂

Because when it’s fluffy, reclining and ridiculously comfortable, you know I’m no longer in any capacity for conversation…

All in the name of research, of course.

This morning was spent visiting five Mount apartments, each needing a little love… and we’re so excited to give these beauties a fresh new chapter. 🤎

Now, after an evening lost in colours, textures and schemes, we’re finally heading to bed. There’s something wonderfully addictive about design—once those creative ideas begin flowing, it’s very hard to switch them off…

What a weekend that was, while Chlo held down the Studio, Lisa and Char had 36 hours on the road, sourcing for the studio and our wonderful design clients… and we’re officially in inspiration overload. 🤎

It’s been a couple of long days, but we’ve had the best time hunting down beautiful, character-filled pieces—each one carefully chosen with a home, a project or a special little corner in mind.

There was plenty of car-ride business planning, classic ’90s tunes, a little questionable singing, lots of coffee and even more laughter.

Tired, inspired and home just in time to tuck the kids into bed… with a car full of treasures and heads full of ideas.

We can’t wait to show you what we found. ✨

Somewhere among the collecting, sourcing and designing, Lisa and Charlotte found themselves creating something of their very own…

A beautiful linen collection, made from premium European flax and designed to be layered, lived in and loved.

Think good old-fashioned bedspreads, double-flanged cushions, bed throws, tablecloths, napkins and runners—each finished with a simple overlocked edge and a playful contrasting stitch.

These are the timeless pieces we could never quite find for our clients… so naturally, we made them ourselves.

And because we design and make each piece, they can be custom-sized to fit your home just so.
